FungiFriday: Sulphur Tufts (Hypholoma fasciculare)

@abduhawab · 2023-10-20 13:35 · FungiFriday

It's good time to explore the wet area to look for mushrooms after we had heavy rain the other night and who knows there were some of them fruited somewhere in the wood, so I decided to head to local forest which is not far from my place. Soon I arrived at the spot, I accidentally noticed these mushrooms growing on decayed log, look like they were there to welcome me. It is commonly known sulphur tuft (Hypholoma fasciculare), that is included into woodland mushroom, often in evidence when hardly any other mushrooms are to be found. It's great to see these sulfur tufts during my forest walk. This typical mushroom mainly grow on rotten trees and on fallen branches, but occasionally you may also find it growing on other kinds of hardwood. These mushrooms are another entry for weekly #FungiFriday challenge, initiated by @ewkaw.
