This time, our friend @emiliorios surpassed himself, and by far, by holding this call for entries on free association of ideas. I won't deny that I love the challenge.
I liked all three images, and without a doubt, the red color of the shoe caught my attention, but I always came back to the blue label.
The phrase allowing thought to flow freely and without restrictions was the trigger for what follows. It's not just the blue, but the landscape in various shades of blue that caught my attention. It reminded me a lot of one of the beaches in my country: Canasí. Many hikers come to this beach to spend a few days alone in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The blue, the sea, has been etched into my being since I was a child. Starting with my sign, Aquarius; I was born in the Playa municipality, a couple of kilometers from the sea, and then moved to my current home, in an apartment with an ocean view.
Since I was a child, I went to the sea almost every week, and on vacation, almost every day. So the smell of the sea, the sound of the waves, and that adrenaline rush are deeply linked to my life. When I moved to the city of Las Tunas, more than 30 kilometers from any coast, if I missed anything, it was that blue on the horizon. Everything there was green or brown. Only the sky was blue, and in fact, it's the most beautiful thing. The sky in Las Tunas, with less environmental pollution, is a more beautiful blue. That's what the color blue and that image remind me of: beauty. The sea is beautiful. When you ask people what color they like most, blue is the predominant one. I also always wanted blue eyes (almost all of my family on my father's side has them, except for me and my father).
But it also gives me that feeling of danger, and I don't know why. Maybe it's because the sea is beautiful, but dangerous. We must respect the sea. Most of the drownings and accidents I know of have been due to a failure to gauge the danger posed by waves, rough play, or any other such negligence we're all familiar with.
Shades of blue also have that appeal of the unknown that awaits us in the depths. And the unknown, the same thing that attracts us like insects to light, frightens and paralyzes us. I, personally, love it. But when I think of blue, what comes to mind are all my dreams, the adventures. The whole days on the beach, the night fishing, the hours and hours of diving exploring the seabed. When I think of blue, I remember the adventures of Salgari, Stevenson, Dumas. I remember all the things I've always wanted to do, but it's no longer my time to discover new lands. Blue calls me to adventure. It's a primal call, one that comes from the depths of my soul. It's the color I always want to return to... I don't know how to explain it, but it's something wild and beautiful. Something happy. Ineffable.

En esta ocasión nuestro amigo @emiliorios se superó a sí mismo, y con creces, al realizar esta convocatoria sobre libre asociación de ideas. No les negaré que me encanta el reto. Las tres imágenes me gustaron y sin duda alguna, el color rojo del zapato me llamó la atención, pero siempre regresé a la etiqueta azul.
La frase es permitir que el pensamiento circule libre y sin restricciones fue el detonador de lo que sigue. No solo es el azul, sino el paisaje en diversos tonos de azul lo que me llamó la atención. Me recordó mucho a una de las playas de mi país: Canasí. En esta playa van muchos excursionistas para pasar unos días solos en la naturaleza, alejados del bullicio de la ciudad. El azul, el mar, ha estado tatuado en mi ser desde niño. Empezando por mi signo, acuario; nací en el municipio Playa, a un par de kilómetros del mar, y luego me mudé a mi casa actual, en un apartamento con vista al mar.
Desde niño iba casi todas las semanas al mar y en vacaciones, casi todos los días. Así que el olor a mar, el sonido de las olas y esa adrenalina, las tengo muy vinculadas a mi vida. Cuando me mudé a la ciudad de Las Tunas, a más de 30 kilómetros de cualquier costa, si algo extrañé fue ese azul en el horizonte. Allá todo era verde o marrón. Solo el cielo era azul, y de hecho, es lo más hermoso. El cielo en Las Tunas, al haber menos contaminación ambiental, es de un color azul más hermoso. Es que eso es lo que me remite el color azul y esa imagen: belleza. El mar es hermoso. Cuando le preguntas a las personas el color que más les gusta, es el azul el predominante. Siempre quise, también, tener los ojos azules (casi toda mi familia por parte de padre los tiene, menos yo y mi padre).
Pero también me da esa sensación de peligro y no sé por qué. Será porque el mar es hermoso, pero peligroso. Hay que respetar al mar. La mayoría de los ahogamientos y accidentes que conozco, ha sido por no saber medir el peligro que representa un oleaje, un juego pesado o cualquier otra negligencia como esas que todos conocemos.
Los tonos de azul también tienen ese atractivo de lo desconocido que nos espera en las profundidades. Y lo desconocido, lo mismo que nos atrae como insectos a la luz, que nos asusta y nos paraliza. A mí, en lo particular, me encanta. Pero cuando pienso en azul, lo que me viene a la mente son todos mis sueños, las aventuras. Los días enteros en la playa, las pescas nocturnas, las horas y horas de buceo explorando el fondo marino. Cuando pienso en azul me acuerdo de las aventuras de Salgari, de Stevenson, de Dumas. Me acuerdo de todo eso que siempre quise hacer, pero ya no es mi época para descubrir nuevas tierras. El azul me llama a la aventura. Es un llamado primitivo, que viene desde el fondo de mi alma. Es el color al que siempre quiero volver… no sé cómo explicarlo, pero es algo salvaje y hermoso. Algo feliz. Inefable.
