Hello, coffee lovers!
I love specialized places, these that may or may not be themed. But if they are themed, even better.
A while back, I shared my experience at the Hogwarts-themed cafe. This one has a Harry Potter theme. Well, today I'll repeat the theme, but not the cafe. Let's check it out. I was recently invited to a literary event in Santa Clara. At the hotel where we were staying, they offered us a cup of coffee in the morning, but it wasn't very good, and very little, so we were left wanting more coffee.
So, once we finished the day's activities, we went out to explore the city in search of that coffee shop that would quench our thirst for coffee. We didn't have to walk far, and suddenly, as if by magic, this coffee shop appeared.
For us, a group of writers, this seemed like a godsend. It couldn't have been more in line with what we were looking for. The cafe is called Alohomora.
It has only one room and is quite small, but very well laid out, so they can accommodate around twenty customers at a time without any problem. Everything, absolutely everything, is decorated with a Harry Potter theme.
From the tables, walls, and ceiling, it's covered with ornaments, toys, collectible figures, and papers printed with elements from the From movies or books.
Even the bathroom is covered in newspaper clippings and movie posters.
You could spend hours admiring the excellent attention to detail of the owners of that place. You could breathe in their fanaticism for the film.
The service was very good. As soon as we arrived, they greeted us very kindly and showed us the menu. It was digital, via a QR code on the table.
The menu is quite extensive. My friends ordered a coffee called Polyjuice Potion; another ordered the Hogwarts Espresso, which is nothing more than a frappuccino and a regular espresso (respectively). I ordered a cappuccino.
For me, cappuccino has always been my test of quality in every coffee shop. And it's never failed me.
The place is excellent, beautiful, well-designed, and well-appointed. The service is very good, but the coffee is terrible. The cappuccino was bad, flavorless and creamy. The same was true for the frappuccino and espresso.
Also, although the coffee looks nice, what appears on the menu isn't the same as what they bring to your table.
The place wasn't cheap at all, so I felt ripped off. Everything was top quality, except the coffee. If it had been good, I think I would have placed it among the best themed coffee shops in my country.
It's a shame it didn't turn out that way. I hope it gets better. It was a rather unpleasant surprise in the end.

Me encantan los sitios especializados, estos que pueden o no serlo temáticos. Pero, si son temáticos, muchísimo mejor.
Hace un tiempo atrás les compartí mi experiencia en la cafetería temática Hogwarts. Esta tiene la temática de Harry Potter. Bueno, en el día de hoy volveré a repetir temática, pero no cafetería. Vamos a verla. Recientemente me invitaron a un evento literario en la ciudad de Santa Clara. En el hotel donde nos hospedaban, nos brindaban una taza de café en las mañanas, pero no muy bueno, y bastante poco, así que nos quedamos con ganas de beber café.
Por lo tanto, una vez que terminamos las actividades del día, salimos a recorrer la ciudad en busca de esa cafetería que nos saciara la sed de café. No tuvimos que caminar mucho y de pronto, como por arte de magia, apareció esta cafetería.
Para nosotros, un grupo de escritores, esto nos pareció como caído del cielo. No podía estar más a tono con lo que buscábamos. La cafetería se llama Alohomora.
Tiene un solo salón y es bastante pequeño, pero muy bien distribuido, de modo que pueden recibir a una veintena de clientes a la vez, sin ningún problema. Todo, absolutamente todo está decorado con la temática de Harry Potter.
Desde las mesas, paredes y techo, está cubierto con adornos, juguetes, figuras coleccionables y papeles impresos con elementos salidos de las películas o los libros.
Es que hasta el baño está empapelado con recortes de periódicos y carteles de las películas.
Podías pasarte horas admirando el excelente gusto por el detalle de los dueños de aquel sitio. Respirabas el fanatismo por la película.
El servicio fue muy bueno. Enseguida que llegamos nos recibieron muy amables y nos mostraron la carta. Esta era digital, a través de un QR en la mesa.

La carta es bastante amplia. Mis amigos pidieron un café que se llama Poción Multijugos; otro el Expreso Hogwarts que no es más que un Frapuchino y un café expreso normal (respectivamente). Yo pedí un capuchino.

Para mí, el capuchino siempre ha sido mi test de calidad de cada cafetería. Y nunca me ha fallado.

El lugar es excelente, hermoso, bien diseñado y logrado, el servicio muy bueno, pero el café es terrible. El capuchino estaba malo, sin sabor ni cremoso. Lo mismo casi con el frapuchino y el expreso.

Además, aunque se ve bonito el café, no es igual lo que aparezca en la carta que lo que te llevan a la mesa.
El lugar no era nada barato, por lo que me sentí estafado. Todo era de la mejor calidad, menos el café. Si hubiera estado bueno, creo que lo hubiera colocado entre las mejores cafeterías temáticas de mi país.

Lástima que no fue así. Ojalá y mejore. Fue una sorpresa poco agradable al final.
