For some reason, the hour before my work ends has become the time for debates at work, and I absolutely love it. You get to find out people's real thoughts and selves behind all the professionalism at work. In fact, if you have a crush on someone, that’s when you get to see the inner beast. Not necessarily beast as in demon or anything. You just get to see the part they hide.
So today, we were arguing about the fact that most people are not working to gather wealth. They are only doing it to get something on their table to eat at the end of the day. The sad part is most people don’t even realize they are living hand to mouth. All they need is money to buy food and clothes.
It was getting out of hand, so we had to involve a random person in the conversation. We asked if she was working, and she said yes, so we asked her if she would keep working if we gave her about $10,000. She now replied that she would keep working and keep that money for the future so she can keep providing her kids with their
We then asked if she was going to invest the money or if she was just going to keep it. She asked us why she should invest when she could just keep the money. Meaning, she wasn’t even thinking about saving the money at the bank as we did.

We asked her why she was going to keep working even after having that amount of money, and she kept saying it would have been enough if it was just for her, but for the sake of her kids and what they would eat and their house rent, she would need to keep working.
We spoke to a different person, and her answer was similar. We moved on to asking investment questions, and that was when it got sad.We realized that they both said the same thing. “After spending on the basic necessities, there is always almost nothing left to save.”
One of them even asked if we called her to laugh at her because they could barely afford three square meals as a family from the income she was getting.A lot of people are working hard but have nothing to show for it. And that’s all thanks to rent and other fees.
