I find it weirdly beautiful when I write something one day, and the next day, I see something about it. So I wrote about how it’s important to be kind with our words because they do hit people. And when they hit, they hit real hard.
I even explained how my neighbor’s son has been feeling like he’s good for nothing just because of the words his mom told him when he was a kid. I find it really sad that he grew up thinking so lowly of himself just because of what his mom said way back in his childhood.
I was watching an interview today, and the guy is one of the richest engineers in Ghana. He’s been doing a lot for the engineering industry in Ghana. I honestly don’t know if that’s the name for it. But I’m sure you get my point.
Life is actually good for him now, and he’s gotten almost all that he wanted in life. Aside from that, he even works with some of the popular car brands we know. He said he specializes in this thing inside the machine (I’ve forgotten), but yeah. That’s what has sent him so far because it’s not an easy thing to do.
So getting to the end of the interview, they asked what keeps him going on tough days. and he actually said his mom and wife. That actually got me curious because I really wanted to know what they do to get him going. And then he said his mom and wife are always praising him for things he hasn’t even done. They encourage him all the time and let him know how capable he is.
Right after listening, I shouted a loud "aha!!!!" as if I were the interviewer. It just confirmed all that I’ve been writing about. It also brought my mind to my neighbor’s son and made me imagine how he would have turned out if things had gone the other way.
How nice it’d be for someone to actually mention in his or her story that your words actually carried her to where he or she is now. And how terrible it’d be for someone to also mention that your words made him sink in life. The choice is yours to make.
