Making a profit is important in this aspect of life we live in. In anything we are doing, to be sincere, if there is no profit, then the means of getting another one would be difficult. We work and get hired by most companies. We leave our respective homes for work to earn a living. Those we are working for also need to make a profit to pay for their workers.

Inasmuch as making a profit is significant, finding a way to subsidize our means of making a profit should be essential. My husband once told me about his boss. He said his boss only wants profit, but not quality teachers who can move her business to the highest level. According to my husband, they have difficulty getting a teacher in a particular subject just because of the pay she's receiving from teachers. Even the good hands are leaving for where they can find a better offer. So, focusing on profits instead of building your establishment is not the best. One can lay out good hands by taking bad ones.
Back to business: We have different parastatals. The government and the private, although the private is there to exploit. They are made for profits instead of for the masses. Although there is no business without the vision of profits.
The public means is another one we must look into. The government has to subsidize so many items just for the reach of the masses, but do we have the means for those items? We have so many politicians who have gnashed their teeth waiting for chances like this. They would be the ones to hijack whatever items are coming to the masses.
Educationally, the educators are not making things palatable for the kids and parents. Everyone wants to open a private school just for profit-making. No one is saying that making profits is not the best, but we just have to be wise why making such profits.
Although we all know that such a private school has to take the services of qualified teachers. The teachers must, in turn, get paid. Buying with this, making the profits too high, is something that kept drawing out parents from sending their kids to a good school.
Imagine landlords building houses for profits. They just want to use this means to extort tenants.
In the aspect of the hospital, I have seen public hospitals without doctors. The means of treating the sick are difficult. Most times, the sick don't get better treatment. They say that in public hospitals, you don't need to pay a dime, or you will just pay a little. Nowadays, the reverse is the case. Any public hospitals you get to must have a pharmacy or Chemist shop very close to them. The reason is not far-fetched. They recommend drugs to patients and would direct them to buy from the chemist's or pharmacy's shop close to the hospital. Most of them are the true owners of the pharmacy or Chemist shop.
It's now making it difficult for the common man to visit the public hospitals. Everything is now made for profits instead of being subsidized to the commoner's taste.
We live in a world where profits now serve as the drive for passion, throwing our passion to do things aside.
Gone are those days when people work to save those in need. Today, anywhere you enter, or anything you want to buy, must go with a huge amount of profit. No one is saying it's not good to make a profit, but making it too much would destroy the purpose those things are made for.
Some pharmacy owners are not qualified to be doctors, but they ventured into the business of drugs just because of the bloody money we have in it. I can bet you, we have too much money in drugs.
The pharmacists may buy or produce with a lesser amount, but the retailers are the ones killing the masses with a lot of profit. Imagine buying a packet of paracetamol for less than five hundred naira and selling it per sachet for two hundred and fifty naira. The profit here is more than 200%. That's the kind of environment we lived in.
I wish things could change, and everyone had this mindset of making things cheaper. It would have been better.
Nothing goes for free without the evidence of making massive profits. We need to change.
