Promise me, these were the last words of their dying grandfather. He died at the age of eighty-one. He was trying to make them learn a lesson. And he was trying to tell them to be kind to everyone, regardless of what they did and how they behaved. And how rich or poor they were.
And this is why their grandfather told them to promise him. And the children were very kind as well; they promised him that they will be learning from him, they will be learning from his lessons. And they will always be kind. This is one of the most valuable lessons one could ever teach and one could ever learn.
