Tight Turns

Looks like we're still nowhere near the moon with Bitcoin, and we can barely even talk about altcoins anymore.

The ones screaming "altcoin season" every time we get a slight pump probably don’t even believe their own hype anymore.

This bull market has mostly been a Bitcoin bull market, and it’s managed to throw us all for a loop. I guess it’s about time we learned that patterns don’t repeat as perfectly as we expect them to.

That doesn’t mean adoption isn’t happening, but it’s moving at a snail’s pace, if you ask me. However...

PayPal on Monday unveiled a new peer-to-peer payments program designed specifically for messaging apps—and crypto is playing a major role.

The initiative, called PayPal Links, will allow users to send various currencies directly to intended recipients via text, DM, or email. The program launched today for U.S. users sending dollars, but will “soon” expand to provide support for payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, PayPal stablecoin PYUSD, and other tokens. source

Money as we know it’s been changing a ton lately, and that’s both a good and a bad thing. On one hand, going digital means convenience is through the roof, but...And there’s a big but we can’t overlook:

The UK is planning to push ahead with ownership limits of £10k-20k for individuals (and £10m for businesses) on ALL SYSTEMIC STABLECOIN. source

They can’t kill cash without a fight, and that’s why they’re so desperate to get rid of it. It’s also why we should be fighting to keep cash alive. We can always have options to choose from, but if cash goes extinct, it’s game over.

I might sound contradictory or like a lunatic, but I see Bitcoin as a Trojan horse—one that’s managed to catch both sides off guard. On one hand, it’s exposing what a Ponzi scheme the current financial system is, but on the other, it feels like big money is using it to get us comfortable with digital cash.

Stablecoins seem like an alternative to fiat money for now, but once they’re fully regulated and ready for widespread use, it’ll be clear they weren’t designed to give us any freedom—quite the opposite.

The world’s gotten so fucked up over the past five years, and it feels like this is just the start. Who knows, maybe I’m wrong... I want to be wrong, but I’ve got no good vibes about what’s coming. Just my two cents...

Thanks for your attention, Adrian
