Naara Park

It's actually Nara, Naara is our @holozing creature which was inspired from the deer of Nara park. Although I have to admit when I first thought of the creature idea I was under the impression it was just a youtube sensation for a short while and it blew over, wasn't aware it was such a big tourist attraction as it was until after I went there.

Anyway, here's some pics of them along with some text!

Let's start with probably my favorite pic, here the deer are crossing the road. They were quite nice at times about waiting for their turn, I don't think they knew what green or red meant but they'd wait for cars to pass until they made their way over the "zebra stripes" as some countries call them!

There were also instances when the deer would go solo crossing the street and they wouldn't wait around then so the cars had to be the ones to wait for it to cross. There was also one that was a bit edgy and decided to just stand on the lines for a bit longer and then end up going vertically along the road and into the park in a different spot just to create some traffic as if there weren't enough tourists wanting to get in!

The park itself was quite big, deer to be seen pretty much everywhere as they roamed around the place. Even on roads leading to some of the local temples you could find deer on the sides waiting for their crackers that you could buy from a few vendors here and there although never located in the ideal places in my opinion. The crackers were made off of rice or something that wouldn't be unhealthy to the deer and obviously you weren't supposed to feed them anything else, although I did see some guy feed a deer some orange peel and almost called the FBI.

Needless to say since the deer were pretty much freeroaming everywhere there was also deer poop everywhere, the tourists probably fed them quite a lot as well! I also was one of those who did that.

I kinda made an effort to look for the ugly male deer, whatever they're called in this region, as I imagined tourists wouldn't give as many crackers to them. This one was kinda ugly and cute that I found here being a lone ~~wolf~~ deer next to this tree.

This was the next one I gave some food to, I think, I don't know it's been like two weeks since this happened.

and here it is eating.

Now here's some more random deer shots without much to say.

That was that, I was sweating profusely during these shots as it was quite hot and we walked quite a bit. Maybe the deer didn't mind softer crackers that had been drenched in sweat!

Anyway, thought I'd start my japan series with these, not that I took too many pics considering how long I was there for, but it's something.

Have you been to Nara Park? It's kind of in between Kyoto and Osaka. We went there by train and back to Kyoto.

Sending some beneficiaries to @hiddenblade for editing the pics for me! Thanks :3
