We've been slowly moving forward with things again so thought I'd bring you a small update.
API's between game and website have been made and are currently in the process of being tied together, this was discussed in this post, a tl;dr: basically so you can heal your creatures off-game so they're ready for the next battle along with using mana potions, food and water to be fresh for any encounter you may face next or the next day if your healer/creatures don't rest well enough on their own.
We've started work on a few simple stats and creating an API for that, the first iteration will be encounter stats that include things like:
- total creatures encountered
- creatures defeated
- creatures captured
- creatures escaped
- player escaped from encounter
- player was defeated in encounter
Keep in mind that these stats will be saved both on the creatures and healer/account, meaning that if you trade your creature away, you can still track its stats from previous owner. This API will also allow us to generate global stats on the website + discord so others can see whenever an encounter ends and how it ended for which player. Example:
Acidyo's healer was defeated in an encounter vs a lvl 5 Miumiu.
Naturally we won't be giving away its stats however, the only times that will be made public is when a creature happens to be full holo (max) stats which will be quite rare!
More work being done on alpha vial opening, we hope to have this ready soon after proper testing once the last remaining animations are implemented.
We'd also like to "soft" remind people that once we get closer to the alpha vial opening, we will be announcing an end-time to our Alpha Sale. This means that after the end-time, we will start selling Beta Vials instead. This also means that the community is in charge of how many Alpha Vials will exist in our game, currently at around 3700!
We have a new 3d artist we've invited to join our team here from Hive directly, welcome @anima-shot who's been doing some amazing work that she's shared with us in the community! We hope this will be a great partnership that'll last us a long time and help us catch up on any missing 3d creatures, healers and environment in the game.
We've started working on a new creature with an additional two evolutions that's coming out great and we'll use the opportunity to restart activity on the @holozing account with a potential naming contest for it along with the last creature we created, the ermine!
We've also completed some work in our "first person point of view" for aiming at creatures and resources to capture or extract them.
The way this works is, whenever you choose your capture device in the inventory, you'll enter a FPS camera angle where you'll have to aim at the wild creature you're attempting to capture, upon failure to do so or success, you'll automatically exit the FPS mode and the battle continues. At the end of the battle, you'll be able to enter this mode once more to extract resources you may see in and around the battle field, such as flowers, fruit or minerals within rocks you believe may contain something to level up your professions!
We are quite excited about this as its our first steps into leveling up gathering professions which then enables players to start crafting and leveling up their crafting professions as well. More info on this later!
Thanks for reading!
