A few days ago we called for a feedback round. We are pleased about all the information we were able to obtain and would like to go into it in this post. But first we must thank @crypto.piotr because he helped us to reach many testers. Thank you very much!!😁
During the time we are implementing the topics below, we are not shutting down our servers. So you can continue to use our service. Link: https://beta.hive-discover.tech
Video/Image-Support
@Jozef230 asked several questions in his commentary. Among them was the question of whether videos are also supported and suggested. Since our AI can only understand text at the moment, all medias are (yet) neglected. To be honest, we never thought about including them, but now: We are currently experimenting with a neural network that will analyse images in a similar way to texts. With this, we could also match them and offer another feed. This would then only contain and suggest photos; like the Instagram Discovery page. This is particularly interesting for the photography community. It is difficult to say when we will roll out this feature, because it depends entirely on the quality of the analysis. But the first results already look good... And because videos are just moving pictures, we could analyse them afterwards in a similar way and suggest them as well!
Wildcard search
@juanmolina mentioned an improvement of the search engine with the help of "wildcard characters". With such characters, search results could be displayed in a more targeted way because certain terms could be excluded, among other things. We already thought about this feature and are currently implementing it. We are also fixing a small bug that automatically used the OR logic gate in searches. This means that a search query such as "animal art" will show posts that match one of the two topics. Normally, however, only posts that contain both terms should be shown. Thank you for the objection!
Other little things
In addition, we (unfortunately) heard a few difficulties due to UI errors on the website and minor hangs. We will fix these in the near future so that a better user experience is created. If you notice any other bugs, please let us know. We also welcome further feedback, whether via Discord or comment!
