A Mystery that Defies Time | My Holiday Anime Pick

  There are anime for all tastes, although that may be true for many forms of entertainment, in anime there are so few limitations, that this statement takes much more force. That is why it has surely happened to you, that you are told "recommend me an anime to watch" and you are left blank thinking about what will be the perfect recommendation for that person. For these cases I have an answer, I do not want to say "generic" because it would not be fair to the series, so I will say "favorite", because it is an anime that adapts to many tastes and is also perfect for those who are beginning to consume anime. --- >Baje para ver la versión en español o haga clic - AQUÍ - --- The series in question is called **Erased** and is a supernatural thriller that tells the story of a young man who possesses the "ability" to go back in time. This ability has the disadvantage of not being able to be controlled at convenience, but it allows him to modify tragic situations that require correction, thus turning Satoru, the protagonist, into a kind of "hero". At the same time, however, this ability endangers his own life. That said, let's go with the five reasons why **Erased** is my favorite anime to recommend. --- ## PLOT AND PREMISE One of the strongest points of **Erased** without a doubt is its plot, being a thriller, the story keeps us guessing who will be the culprit of the series of murders that marked **Satoru**'s childhood practically until the very end. This is an anime I've watched three or four times, and I'm always surprised at how well handled the story is so as not to give too many clues as to the identity of the culprit, so if you like mystery, **Erased** will certainly satisfy that taste. In addition to the mystery elements, we have a tremendous ride through situations that will make us feel nostalgia, joy, frustration, and even make us cry. Without a doubt, it has been one of the anime series that has made me feel different things the most, there is even a moment that will forever be marked in my memory as one of the most touching I have ever seen. Despite this, I could not label the series as "cheesy", on the contrary, these moments serve as a relief for all the suspense and mystery that constantly surrounds the characters. Added to the aforementioned, we have the magnificent idea of **revival**. In my previous review, I emphasize that it is one of my favorite things about this anime, this not only forms the basis that supports the plot, since without this ability the story simply would not develop, but it also brings a fantastic element to the anime. This element serves, like the emotional situations I mentioned earlier, to counterbalance the "serious" tone of the story. So, if you are in search of fantasy, **Erased** offers a bit of that as well. --- ## CHARACTERS If there's one thing that always makes a series stand out, it's the proper construction and development of its characters, in **Erased** that's something so well crafted that it's hard not to sympathize with more than one. Children or adults, the characters feel real, they live situations that we can easily identify with, and it is easy to empathize with them. This gives it an element of veracity that I have rarely seen in an anime, besides allowing us to get even more involved in the story, not only in **Satoru**'s**, but in that of all his companions. --- ## PACE Despite being a thriller and dealing with themes that may seem serious to some, **Erased** is far from being boring, at every moment something is happening that eventually becomes relevant to the plot. In addition, having a protagonist who does not control his "ability" to travel through time, situations arise all the time that jeopardize the whole "operation". This is how each "revival" opens a new door to a new situation to solve, as well as providing valuable pieces of information about the crimes **Satoru** is trying to solve, which helps to keep the pace of the series on track, preventing it from flagging. --- ## ANIMATION Who doesn't like an anime with attractive animation? Despite being a few years old, **Erased** has a beautiful design of backgrounds and scenery, as well as characters, it is a clean design, with sober but vivid colors. There are moments that stand out more than others, however, in general the animation is consistently good, which makes you enjoy even more the story they are trying to convey. Plus, they transition the characters from children to adults seamlessly. --- ## DURATION One of the most important things for me when choosing and recommending an anime is its duration, especially lately, that my time is limited, which has made me start choosing short series. As the idea of the proposal is that you can watch it during the year-end vacations, with its 12 episodes of just over 20 minutes long, **Erased** is undoubtedly a great choice for these dates. Although, do not be fooled by its short duration, each chapter is wonderful, in each one they manage to tell the story perfectly without the need for many more. --- For this and many more things, I will always recommend **Erased**, it is a series with a fantastic development in many aspects and with a bitter-sweetly satisfying ending. So if you haven't seen it yet, take advantage of these vacations to do so, you will certainly enjoy it. ---  # Un misterio que desafía al tiempo | Mi selección navideña de anime   Hay animes para todos los gustos, aunque eso posiblemente sea cierto para muchas formas de entretenimiento, en el anime hay tan pocas limitaciones, que dicha afirmación toma mucha más fuerza. Es por ello que seguramente les ha pasado, que les dicen "recomiéndame un anime para ver" y se quedan en blanco pensando en cuál será la recomendación perfecta para esa persona. Para estos casos yo tengo una respuesta, no quiero decirle “genérica” porque no sería justo con la serie, así que le diré “preferida”, debido a que es un anime que se adapta a muchos gustos y que además es perfecta para aquellos que están iniciando a consumir anime. La serie en cuestión se llama **Erased** y es un thriller sobrenatural que narra la historia de un joven que posee la "habilidad" de retroceder en el tiempo. Esta habilidad tiene la desventaja de no poder ser controlada a conveniencia, pero le permite modificar situaciones trágicas que requieren corrección, convirtiendo así a Satoru, el protagonista, en una especie de "héroe". Sin embargo, al mismo tiempo, esta capacidad pone en peligro su propia vida. Dicho esto, vamos con los cinco motivos por los cuales **Erased** es mi anime favorito para recomendar. --- ## TRAMA Y PREMISA Uno de los puntos más fuertes de **Erased** sin duda es su trama, al ser un thriller, la historia nos mantiene con la incógnita de quién será el culpable de la serie de asesinatos que marcó la niñez de **Satoru** prácticamente hasta el final. Este es un anime que he visto tres o cuatro veces y siempre me sorprende lo bien manejada que está la historia para no dar demasiadas pistas sobre la identidad del culpable, así que si les gusta el misterio, sin duda **Erased** satisfará dicho gusto. Además de los elementos de misterio, tenemos un paseo tremendo por situaciones que nos harán sentir nostalgia, alegría, frustración, e incluso nos harán llorar. Sin duda, ha sido una de las series de anime que más me ha hecho sentir diferentes cosas, incluso hay un momento que se quedará marcado para siempre en mi memoria como uno de los más conmovedores que he visto. A pesar de ello, no podría etiquetar a la serie como "cursi", al contrario, estos momentos sirven como alivio para todo el suspenso y el misterio que envuelve constantemente a los personajes. Sumado a lo ya mencionado, tenemos la magnífica idea del **revival**. En mi reseña anterior, destaco que es una de mis cosas favoritas de este anime, este no solo constituye la base que sostiene la trama, ya que sin esta habilidad la historia simplemente no se desarrollaría, sino que también aporta un elemento fantástico al anime. Este elemento sirve, al igual que las situaciones emotivas que mencioné anteriormente, para contrarrestar el tono "serio" de la historia. Por lo tanto, si están en busca de fantasía, **Erased** también ofrece un poco de eso. --- ## PERSONAJES Si hay algo que siempre hace que una serie se destaque es la correcta construcción y desarrollo de sus personajes, en **Erased** eso es algo tan bien trabajado que es difícil no simpatizar con más de uno. Niños o adultos, los personajes se sienten reales, viven situaciones con las que nos podemos sentir fácilmente identificados y es sencillo sentir empatía por ellos. Esto le da un elemento de veracidad que pocas veces he visto en un anime, además de permitir que nos involucremos aún más en la historia, no solamente en la de **Satoru**, sino en la de todos sus compañeros. --- ## RITMO A pesar de ser un thriller y de tratar temas que a algunos les pueden parecer serios, **Erased** está lejos de ser aburrida, en cada momento está sucediendo algo que eventualmente cobra relevancia en la trama. Además, al contar con un protagonista que no controla su "habilidad" para viajar en el tiempo, todo el tiempo surgen situaciones que ponen en riesgo toda la "operación". Es así como cada "revival" abre una nueva puerta a una nueva situación a resolver, además de brindar piezas valiosas de información sobre los crímenes que **Satoru** intenta resolver, lo que ayuda a mantener el ritmo de la serie por buen camino, evitando que decaiga. --- ## ANIMACIÓN ¿A quién no le gusta un anime con una animación atractiva? A pesar de tener algunos añitos de haber sido lanzada, **Erased** cuenta con un hermoso diseño tanto de fondos y escenarios, como de personajes, es un diseño limpio, con colores sobrios pero vivos. Hay momentos que destacan más que otros, sin embargo, en general la animación es consistentemente buena, lo que hace que se disfrute aún más la historia que nos tratan de transmitir. Además, de que hacen la transición de los personajes de niños a adultos a la perfección. --- ## DURACIÓN Una de las cosas más importantes para mí al momento de elegir y recomendar un anime es su duración, sobre todo últimamente, que mi tiempo es limitado, lo que me ha hecho comenzar a elegir series de corta duración. Como la idea de la propuesta es que puedan verla durante las vacaciones de fin de año, con sus 12 episodios de un poco más de 20 minutos de duración, **Erased** sin duda se alza como una gran opción para estas fechas. Aunque, no se dejen engañar por su corta duración, cada capítulo es maravilloso, en cada uno logran contar perfectamente la historia sin necesidad de muchos más. --- Por esto y muchas cosas más, siempre recomendaré **Erased**, es una serie con un desarrollo fantástico en muchos aspectos y con un final agridulcemente satisfactorio.
