Anxiety is something that feels absolutely crazy! Everything in life is just so uncertain, and the truth is, we humans often want to have it all figured out—or at least know where all of this is going to end and when. 🤷
There’s this funny saying I always hear in Nigeria: "Trust the process, trust the process!" But does the process even know we’re trusting it? 😭😅 Because at this point, maybe if I could just define what’s actually about to happen after all this stress and grinding, I’d feel calmer. Right? But that sense of uncertainty… Sometimes, you think you've got it all figured out, and then, just a while later, you don’t. 😫😫😫
You just can’t help but worry about tomorrow or feel like you’re losing your mind in the process. Anxiety can be so overwhelming, and the annoying thing is that you can get anxious over anything! The other day, I was so anxious about what content to post that I started experiencing creative blocks.
So, what exactly is anxiety? Well, it's basically everything I just described—but in a more precise context. Anxiety is a natural response to stress, a feeling of fear and worry about the future. Most times, perfectionists struggle with this the most because we just want to have everything in control. I mean, is that too much to ask? Just for things to go as planned—no surprises, please! 😫
But, I guess that’s what makes life interesting, even if it’s hard to handle sometimes. Random things get thrown into your picture-perfect plan, and you just have to work on them before moving forward.
For me, sometimes, I just sleep and put everything on pause for a while—it helps. Other times, I write down my thoughts to figure out the exact problem and know where to start from. That’s just me, though.
