Having a consistent culture of reading books is really a good thing, it helps in widening our level of reasoning and understanding.

I remember while growing up, consistent reading of physical books was my daily habit. My parents works in a government owned secondary schools, this gives them the leverage to bring books from school for us to read at home.
As at then, we have a reading time-table we follow every day just to keep us at pace. It's always fun reading with my siblings because it's always an interactive time to share our thoughts and idea about the books we've read.
Being blessed with parents who understand the importance of reading books is a huge blessing indeed. It really shaped my reading culture for good.
You can't live with my parent and you won't like reading. That's impossible. When you have teachers as parents, you ought to understand that they don't joke with anything related to reading or academics. Most book I love reading then are the adventurous stories. Those books are always interesting to read.

But as years go by, things began to change. I could no longer access physical books like before when I was still living with my parents. The only means I could get physical books was just to buy. Looking at the monthly allowance I was given then, I could not afford to buy physical books because they are expensive. I even made attempt of borrowing books from a local library. But on getting there, I was surprised when I discovered that most of the books are outdated.
All thanks to Technology for making life easier. The era of technology has given us access to ebooks that can be easily read at convenience. No need of carrying weighty books around. You can have them on your smart phone without carrying extra loads of books.
Ever since the era of ebooks, I have not been reading physical books . The last time I read physical books was when I was preparing for an exam few months ago. Most of my lecture note are physical books so I needed to read so that I can pass my exam. Apart from this, I don't think I have read physical books ever since then.
Even I though, I know reading only ebooks is not the best but I plan to adjust by having a monthly target of physical books I needed to read monthly. I believe this will help me prioritize reading physical books the more.
Another factor that affected me in reading physical books is work and responsibilities. The more we grow the more we are open up to more responsibility. I remember while growing up with my parent I don't have anything to take care of, everything is being provided by my parent. But now, things have changed, there are lot of bills to pay, and man must work. This has been one of the reasons why I don't have time to read physical books but I hope to change by having a time table and creating structures that encourage reading of physical books.
