December 15th, 2024 - Philadelphia 76ers vs Detroit Pistons

The Pistons came to visit the Sixers on this December evening, and the Sixers and the Machine indeed saw victory! Unfortunately the Machine STILL is not finding a ton of success scoring. He will continue to keep working at it though. Everyone finds success at their own rate. One of the Machine's favorite players in Jimmy Butler wasn't the greatest offensive threat when he first entered the league either!

Despite this though, the Machine still hovered around a double-double on the night. He finished with:

  • 7 Points, 3 Rebounds, 9 Assists
  • A+ Teammate Grade

🌎My Thoughts on the Sports World Today🌎

In the real world, the NFL regular season is almost here! I'm so grateful to be able to see another season of NFL action. Tonight I continue to give some thoughts on each NFL Division, tonight I'm glancing at the NFC South.

Between my Titans and the Carolina Panthers, it's really a toss up to decide which team is really the most lost in the NFL. I respect the patience the Panthers have shown with third year quarterback Bryce Young though. Many franchises show wild impatience with quarterbacks in recent years and I can't begin to express how silly that is sometimes. Unless a quarterback looks totally awful, I think it's usually ok to show a bit of patience. That being said this is Bryce's third season now, and he's officially 24. This is perhaps the best, and perhaps the final chance for him to establish himself as a franchise QB. The Panthers roster as a whole seems to be developing pretty nicely. I'm actually fairly intrigued by them. I think drafting wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was a wise move! The Panthers could be sneaky good in 2025-26 and hover around .500 I believe especially considering that the NFC South is not too competitive.

The New Orleans Saints are a hard team to read, they feel like they're becoming the NFC's Steelers kind of. Usually pretty competitive and scrappy, but ultimately not much of a playoff threat. They have a mildly intriguing but unproven quarterback in Spencer Rattler, a dynamic but aging running back in Alvin Kamara and a deep but not elite receiving group. Their defense is usually very respectable. There's a lot to like on the Saints, but I can't say there's a lot to love. This team feels destined for another 7-9 win season I believe unless Rattler can take a huge step at QB.

The Atlanta Falcons look intriguing but again, I need to see it to believe it. They could be a lite VERY LITE version of the Eagles. Dynamic QB, a potentially elite running back in Bijan Robinson and an ok receiving group. Drake London looks primed to have a very big year, and if Kyle Pitts can unlock his potential once and for all that would be huge for them. I keep hearing whispers of the Falcons defense being sneaky good. Ultimately much like the prior two teams, the Falcons are extremely mysterious.

Now, we come to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs look mean and ready to roll I feel. They are well coached and deep everywhere you look. Baker Mayfield is a whole new quarterback and the man is only 30. There's not a position group on this team I don't like. Mike Evans is a TANK at wide receiver. I just feel like this team has a ton of momentum right now. This may be mildly bold of me but I think the Bucs are live championship contenders. The Bucs should be the champions of this division.

The UFC is in Chicago tonight for UFC 319 and the main event is between Dricus Du Plessis (C) and Khamzat Chimaev in a fight for the Middleweight Championship. This fight looks to be INTENSE. A truly great matchup. Many people think Dricus is awkward and unskilled but the results say otherwise. Just because the man doesn't fight like James Bond or something, people think he luckily got the championship and defended it twice... LOL.

I think Dricus is bigger than Khamzat and just as fast. Khamzat will be scary early in the fight but if Dricus can take Khamzat past round two, this fight is over for Khamzat. I also think Dricus is way too tactically sound in the octagon.

I'm not a prediction pro here, I just write about my favorite sports LOL. I think Dricus wins by either decision or a TKO finish in round four or five.

The sports world never sleeps, till next time!
