Beloved family in Christ, we cannot speak of victory over sin, flesh, or the devil without speaking of the Cross of Jesus Christ. The Cross is not just a symbol; it is the center of our faith, the place where heaven and earth met, and where victory was declared once and for all.
- The Cross Is the Place of Exchange
At the Cross, Jesus took what was ours and gave us what was His.
He took our sin, and gave us righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).
He took our curse, and gave us the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:13–14).
He took our poverty, and gave us His riches (2 Corinthians 8:9).
He took our death, and gave us eternal life (John 10:10).
The Cross was the greatest exchange in human history.
- The Cross Is the Place of Victory
Colossians 2:14–15 says:
“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us… and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
On the Cross, Jesus didn’t just forgive sins—He defeated Satan and stripped him of his authority. That’s why every believer can stand boldly against the devil and win.
- The Cross Is the Place of Crucifixion of Self
Paul said in Galatians 2:20:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.”
The Cross is not only what Jesus carried—it is also what every disciple must carry. Our pride, ego, and sinful desires must die there. Until the “old man” is nailed to the Cross, the “new man” in Christ cannot shine fully.
- The Cross Is the Place of Reconciliation
Through the Cross, man who was once far away was brought near to God. Ephesians 2:13 says:
“But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”
The Cross restored our fellowship with the Father, making us sons and daughters of God.
- Living the Life of the Cross
Carry your cross daily (Luke 9:23).
Live in humility and surrender.
Embrace suffering for righteousness’ sake with joy.
Forgive others, just as Jesus forgave at the Cross.
🔥 Prayer Point: Lord, let the power of the Cross work in me daily. Crucify my flesh, break every curse, and keep me rooted in Your victory.
💡 Reflection: Am I living a “cross-shaped life”—a life of surrender, humility, and daily victory through Christ?
