My mom has never liked tattoos, but in the times we live in, it is rarer to see a person my age without tattoos than one with a tattoo. I, on the other hand, always liked them, I remember watching Ink master with my brother and my dad, and when my brother got his first tattoo I celebrated it a lot, besides telling my mom that when I lived alone I was going to get tattooed a lot. I still live with my mom, but it's been a long time since I got tattooed and she understood a long time ago that they are no big deal, even though she doesn't like them. Tattoos from my point of view are an art form that has a variety of techniques that are very complicated to recreate, so when my brother told me he was going to play at a tattoo convention, I couldn't refuse to go and check it out.

My brother, who is eleven years older than me, is in a kind of mid-thirties crisis and started a metal tribute band. Bands like linkin park, limp bizkit, deftones or candy66, that kind of music that in his adolescence he combined with aesthetics, and that, now, because of their influence, I also like them. Because of that, and because metal goes well with tattoos, he was invited to the first brutalInk fest here in the city, a convention where there were several tattoo artists, people painting live, people doing piercings, rappers and, as I said, my brother with his band. A different time that I really enjoyed since I really love music and I like to see people doing what they like, and if one of those people is my family, all the better.
My history with tattoos is interesting. So far I have four and I want to cover one of them. The first two I got hidden and when I was a teenager, which was a really bad idea; I got them with some friends to help a friend practice. I'm glad I'm much better now. But when he tattooed me, I was his second tattoo, and he did it in a room with bad lighting, which became a mark on my skin that I don't wear with a lot of pride, but with a lot of affection; next to that one he gave me a smaller one. Later, a friend who left the country gave me the money to get one and I decided to get a cat done by one of the best tattoo artists in town, and it ended up being a great tattoo that everyone compliments me when they see it for the first time. The last one is just a yinyang.
As for the performance, the images speak for themselves. It is always an experience for me to see a live band and even if it is a cover band, listening to those songs that were part of my childhood fills my heart and makes me feel like in ecstasy. BrutalInk was an experience that I would like to live again, both for the artists, the music and the tattoo.
A mi mamá nunca le han gustado los tatuajes, pero en las épocas en las que vivimos, es más raro ver a una persona de mi edad sin tatuajes que una tatuada. A mÃ, por otra parte, siempre me gustaron, recuerdo que veÃa Ink master con mi hermano y mi papá, y que cuando mi hermano se hizo su primer tatuaje lo celebre mucho, además de decirle a mi mamá que cuando viviese solo me iba a tatuar mucho. Sigo viviendo con mi mamá, pero hace mucho tiempo que me tatué y hace mucho tiempo que ella entendió que no son la gran cosa, a pesar de que no le gusten. Los tatuajes desde mi punto de visa son una forma de arte que tiene una variedad de técnicas muy complicadas de recrear, por lo que cuándo mi hermano me dijo que iba a tocar en una convención de tatuajes, no pude negarme a ir para ver que tal.
Mi hermano, que me lleva once años, está en una especie de crisis de los treinta y empezó una banda tributo al un metal. Bandas como linkin park, limp bizkit, deftones o candy66, ese tipo de música que en su adolescencia combinaba con la estética, y que, ahora, por su influencia, a mà también me gustan. Por eso, y porque el un metal pega mucho con los tatuajes, lo invitaron al primer brutalInk fest aquà en la ciudad, una convención dónde se presentaron varios tatuadores, gente pintando en vivo, gente haciendo piercings, raperos y, cómo dije, mi hermano con su banda. Un rato diferente que realmente disfrute ya que realmente amo la música y me gusta mucho ver a personas haciendo lo que les gusta, y si una de esas personas es mi familia, pues mucho mejor.
Mi historia con los tatuajes es interesante. Hasta ahora tengo cuatro y me quiero tapar uno. Los primeros dos me los hice escondido y cuando era adolescente, lo que realmente fue muy mala idea; me los hice con unos amigos para ayudar a un amigo a practicar. Me alegra que ahora haya mejorado mucho. Pero cuándo me tatuó, fui su segundo tatuaje, y lo hizo en un cuarto con mala iluminación, lo que se convirtió en una marca en mi piel que no la llevo con mucho orgullo, pero si con mucho cariño; junto a ese me hizo uno más pequeño. Después, una amiga que se fue del paÃs me regaló el dinero para hacerme uno y decidà hacerme un gato con uno de los mejores tatuadores de la ciudad, y terminó siendo un gran tatuaje que todos me halagan cuando lo ven por primera vez. El último es solo un yinyang.
En cuanto al toque, las imágenes hablan por si solas. Siempre es para mà una experiencia ver a una banda en vivo y aunque sea una banda de covers, escuchar esas canciones que fueron parte de mi infancia me llenan el corazón y me hacen sentir como en éxtasis. El brutalInk fue una experiencia que me gustarÃa volver a vivir, tanto por sus artistas, como por la música, como por el tatuaje.
