I just finished watching the seventh episode of the second season of Arcane and I am honestly in shock. I got home thinking “ok, I'll have dinner, take a bath, watch an episode of arcane and start writing”, but the truth is that I didn't realize that this seventh episode would make me feel so many things. I could then talk about Arcane, but talking about the series when I'm only two chapters away from finishing it feels like a waste, an incomplete work, however, it made me realize the great works that animation has brought this year. Just as I already did with music, it is fair and necessary that now it is my turn to talk about animation, which is, of course, the form that touches my soul the most when it comes to telling a story.

I already did a post about wild robot a few weeks ago, but it's always important to remember a good movie, and god that wild robot is a good movie. Heading to the oscars, wild robot is possibly the most deserving and the favorite for me and for the audience in general, and anyone who has seen the movie probably thinks the same. If you haven't seen the movie, here is a link to a post where I talk about it in a more extended way: -link-. And if you have already seen it, you can agree with me when I say that it is one of the best dreamworks movies and the best animated movie of the year.
On the other hand, this year has felt endless and I bring this up because I remember how viral the second season of smiling Friends went on the internet and my brain thinks it was last year because of the amount of time that has passed since then. But no, the second season of smiling Friends premiered this year on HBO and let me tell you, if you're a fan of animation in the adult comedy genre, smiling Friends is as good as it gets. A mix of different animations under an extremely common premise, along with an eloquent cast and conversations that will do nothing but make you laugh, makes smiling Friends one of the best things you can watch this year on any streaming service, and, of course, one of the best things you can watch this year in the animation category.
Lastly, I know I already talked about arcane but I have to mention this beauty again, and this because of its seventh chapter, which made me smile, gave me goosebumps and also almost made me cry. I have to mention arcane and how it made me feel because, along with arcane, there were a few things released in animation that also blew my mind and made me want to cry: the seventh chapter of Dandadan and Look Back. On the one hand, with Dandadan, the story of the single mother and her daughter gave me goosebumps and I was surprised that an anime like Dandadan has shown such a story; and on the other hand, Look back is one of the most beautiful movies that animation has given us in recent years. For that reason, and for what I have already said before, I feel that animation this year has been to be admired.
Acabo de terminar de ver el séptimo capítulo de la segunda temporada de Arcane y estoy sinceramente en shock. Llegué a mi casa pensando “ok, ceno, me baño, veo un capítulo de arcane y me pongo a escribir”, pero la verdad no llegue a dimensionar que este séptimo capítulo me haría sentir tantas cosas. Podría entonces hablar de Arcane, pero hablar de la serie cuándo me faltan solo dos capítulos para terminarla se siente como un desperdicio, un trabajo incompleto, sin embargo, me hizo darme cuenta de las grandes obras que ha traído la animación este año. Así como ya hice con la música, es justo y necesario que ahora me toque hablar de la animación, que es, como no, la forma que más toca mi alma a la hora de contar una historia.

Ya hice un post sobre robot salvaje hace algunas semanas, pero siempre es importante recordar una buena película, y dios que robot salvaje es una buena película. En camino a los oscars, robot salvaje es posiblemente la más merecedora y la favorita tanto para mí como para la audiencia en general, y cualquier persona que haya visto la película posiblemente piense igual. Por otro lado, este año lo he sentido interminable y saco esto a colación porque recuerdo lo viral que se volvió la segunda temporada de smiling Friends en internet y mi cerebro piensa que fue el año pasado por la cantidad de tiempo que ha pasado desde entonces. Pero no, la segunda temporada de smiling Friends se estrenó este año en HBO y déjame decirte que si eres un fanático de la animación en el género de comedia para adultos, smiling Friends es lo mejor que puedes encontrar. Una mezcla de diferentes animaciones bajo una premisa sumamente común, junto a un cast elocuente y unas conversaciones que no harán más que sacarte carcajadas, hace que smiling Friends sea de lo mejor que puedes ver este año en algún servicio streaming, y, claro está, de lo mejor que puedes ver este año en el rubro de la animación.

Por último, sé que ya hablé de arcane pero tengo que volver a mencionar esta belleza, y esto debido a su séptimo capítulo, que me hizo sonreír, me puso la piel de gallina y también casi me hace llorar. Tengo que mencionar arcane y lo que me hizo sentir, porque, junto con Arcane, se estrenaron algunas cosas en animación que también me volaron la cabeza y me dieron ganas de llorar: el séptimo capítulo de Dandadan y Look Back. Por un lado, con Dandadan, la historia de la madre soltera y su hija me puso la piel de gallina y me sorprendió que un anime como Dandadan haya mostrado esa historia; y por el otro lado, Look back es una de las películas más hermosas que nos ha dado la animación en los últimos años. Por eso, y por lo que ya he dicho antes, siento que la animación este año ha sido de admirar.
