Happy Lord's Day everyone and trust we all had amazing day in God's presence today
The topic to be reviewed says I want to do God's will but how can I stop doing bad things? The video of brother Eli's video also mentioned about how and why being in a false religion can affect a person's desire to change their sinful behavior and habits
Now, the first question lies here, as an individual that God has created to know the right from wrong, life from death, good and bad, can we really say that we are spiritually matured enough to resist from doing bad even when we know it is bad? Most cases we are not and that's where the need for us to practice good religion and also be led by a good religious leader comes in.
For instance, Peter left his work as a fisherman to follow Jesus Christ as his disciples but along the line after Jesus Christ was no longer with them and had ascended to heaven, things probably went bad and then he decided to go back to fishing alongside some disciples until Jesus showed up to them at the shore and guided them to catch larger fishes and eventually reinstate them back to their primary assignment as a disciple.
Would we have said Peter or the rest of the disciples didn't know they were about doing a bad thing? They know but circumstances of life shoved them away like a whirlwind but because The great Teacher, Leader and their Lord never left them so they were able to come back to the right path and became fishers of men. They changed from that bad decision and carried their cross with the Lord.
So therefore, as long as we chose to stay in a wrong, false religion or under a wrong leader then we are prone to remaining in the bondage of doing bad things we wish not to do rather than doing the will of God. Even when we are about stepping out of the lane like a sheep gradually leaving the flock of the shepherd, the religion or the kind of person leading us would determine if we would be found or remain missing and lost in our world of sins.
We must ensure that we stay under the shield that would direct our path to doing good and following God's will rather than staying with whom would continually destroy our relationship with our maker.
