Blessed day everyone. When we talk about being a single lady or a spinster, we mostly think about this period as the period of free movement, free lifestyle to do whatsoever we want to do with no one depriving us of whatever fun life we wish to live which should not be.
There are some ladies who had mapped out their spinsterhood or being single even as a Christian to enjoy themselves before marriage comes in because of the whole responsibility and stress that comes with it and according to marital experience from married people around (Not even women alone), it has been known and established that life as a married person isn't so easy.
So, as a Christian unmarried lady, we must ensure that we devote ourselves to work for God and be led by his word so we don't get to miss it maritally as this stage is the most delicate stage of our lives. It is not about using the whole 24hours of a day but the heart and what we get ourselves involved in to work for God.
Apparently, not every one would settle for not getting married and remaining single but whichever way, this period of being single is the only time when we can seek God fervently with no distraction because when we eventually get married, no matter how burning we are for God, we may tend to lose a spark in that fire. Not because we are no longer in that path anymore but because responsibilities are now competing space in our lives with God.
Is it the part of nursing a crying baby from morning till night, in between getting the house chores done, sorting your own personal business if there's any and many more. How on earth won't such a woman sleep off while praying before going to bed.
I've had a lady complain bitterly saying: "I would go all day to take care of the children and at night that I'm supposed to rest, their father comes asking for his right as well. Do they want to kill me?" The day she said this, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry with her cos I partially understood what she was going through even though I'm not yet in her shoes.
Just like the English people would say
Make Hay While Sun Shines
So as a single lady, we should deepen ourselves more in God's words, work for God now that we still have the treasure of time and privilege as a single lady to please God before getting married. Not every single ladies have the opportunity to still have that same zeal from their singlehood when they eventually have a family.
