Joy Of A Time For Togetherness And Refreshing

It's rare before you see anyone hating a holiday. Almost everyone loves the sound of a holiday coming and this is mostly the feelings of public sector employees or civil servants, private sector employees, students in schools of different levels either primary, secondary or tertiary.

You would see the calendar of most employees or students who awaits any slightest holiday been marked in circles and they graciously anticipate the arrival of each of these holidays. While I was still an employee, the sweetest holidays I do enjoy was an holiday that either falls on a Friday or Monday and not between Tuesday and Thursday. Though, I will still gladly take them but it may not be as sweet as having full 3 days to oneself to rest when it falls close to a weekend.

You wouldn't blame people for loving holidays so much because most people work so hard that just a day break of a holiday would get them enough rest to get refreshed and be able to perform much more better in the course of their duty of which on a normal day, there's no time or break to do that without a holiday. Take for instance, someone who works an 8am-7pm job or even 7-7 and it will still be Mondays to Saturdays or even Sundays.

Most self-employed people are not really freaked with holidays in the year except for the main and general holidays observed for festivity like Christmas, Eid-Maulud/Sallah, Ney year, and Easter break. Not even good Friday is counted as holiday to most business owners except for Easter Sunday and Monday.

For me, I think my country has enough general holidays that everyone looks forward to but it wouldn't be bad too if more holidays are added especially in between the period where we have straight three months or so with no single holiday diluting it.

Some people get to spend time with their families and loved ones only in holiday period. Even the business owners this time around and not just employees and some business owners are even worse at taking these holidays as medium to rest but would rather still work because they believe it's not yet time to rest and just like a fellow hiver said on a discord server saying "Sleep is a financial mistake".

In my own opinion, having more holiday does not in anyway affect the economy negatively because holidays allow workers rest, have a retreat, get refreshed and recharge to enhance productivity at work because behind every successful and vibrant economy lies the vibrant workers. So if the workers are not healthy or mentally stable then how do the economy wanna stay stable?.

People being home would even help small businesses grow for those periods of the holidays, contributing to the increase of economic stability whereby the consumers gets to boost sales for businesses most especially the wholesales and retails sector of businesses or people who would be going to places for relaxation for their holidays which would enable more sales for those in hospitality sector or who would wanna go on a retreat or vacation or something without booking for an hotel and with this, they just don't get to pay taxes alone but have the benefits of their market audience coming to them.

Talking about the absence of workers away from their works during holidays which may be seen as setback for businesses or works during holidays can actually be mitigated by ensuring that workers plan ahead to avoid work progress disruption before going for a holiday. This would ensure that work isn't delayed in the name of holiday.
