Who SAT and watch my infant head when sleeping on my cradle bed And tears of which affection shed.... My Mother

My tribe would also sing for the fathers, referring to them and interpreted as a Mirror (Jigi) that should never break.

Jigi mi ko gbodo fo o o jigi Oo jigi ko gbodo fo o o jigi

This is the extent at which every child owes his or her parent for every bit of patience and sacrifices in raising us, carrying out their responsibilities as parents and caretakers over us because they can as well turn irresponsible, leaving us to the cold breeze of life to struggle to live on our own which under maybe, we may survive or not.

Taking care of our parents shouldn't look like a burden or an overboard request that we think of as unnecessary since they own the decision of bringing us to the world knowingly or unknowingly. Seeing children who probably still have mothers in life but were dumped to be raised in a motherless babies home or children whose either of the parents are still breathing but found themselves living through the hurdles of growing in an orphanage home should give a flash to our thinking that we owe our parents for owing up to their responsibility as a parent in raising us no matter how lowly of a living standard we were raised.

Fortunately, I was born and raised by the best couple I would ever choose again and again if there was to be a rebirth and I could choose my parents myself. Not because they are wealthy or because I was raised with a silver spoon but for every suffering I could witness them suffer, every sacrifices I witnessed them sacrificing just so my siblings and I could become the great children that would make them proud that they have indeed raised good nations, not because they expect anything in return but because they want to see us doing well in great places will forever make me cherish them.

A great lesson I've come to learn in life is that It doesn't have to be when you have it big or that you give it big before we can take care of our parents and fortunately for me, my parents even before I lost my mum, were not the ones that solely depend on children for survival which may want to bring some heavy pressure on the children. So in a way, I might not be speaking the hearts of people whose every bit of parent's survival comes from the children's pockets and this is still speaking the same thing that We Owe Our Parents Everything including Gratitude AND NOT JUST GRATITUDE

Either we are meeting up with their direct and indirect demands or not, either they appreciate what we give to them or they are the type that complains that it is not enough, either they see us for a struggling child who's trying to take care of them or they see us as not trying our best compared to their friends children, we are bound to do our best in taking care of them simply because we owe it to them BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF OUR CONSCIENCE AND HUMANITY

One last thing I would like to chip in is that God also acknowledges the act of parent's care from children and though I may not remember where exactly I've read this in the scripture but it made me understand that every human is like a life cycle because for every unwanted place that our parents took us to when we were still babies or little kids because they want to care for us, we as children would take them on same journey when they become old as well because indirectly they've turned babies.

SO ITS NOT JUST ABOUT GRATITUDE BUT DEBTS WE'RE TIED ON TO PAY AS LONG AS THEY LIVE
