Technology has advanced with so much innovations which has helped the generations of men in assisting with execution of some simple or delicate task. Virtual Reality just as it sounds, having a reality of something or an activity done virtually instead of been a physical activity.
Virtual Reality is a part of technology that helps create an interactive simulated environment like a real life. We have been involved with Virtual Reality in some aspects of life and the ones with high priorities based on my research is in both medical line and entertainment.
Virtual Reality would surely be a big break in technology not because of the way it has been hyped alone but because of the way it came into our lives through the entertainment aspect.
I think it all started when users were introduced to playing 3D games, putting on some 3D eye glasses. It was said to be that the game looks real than the normal 2D games or whatsoever.
Though I don't have a personal experience on these virtual reality stuffs but I remember times when I would see some content post of some friends or some random people on the internet in action like as if they are on a war zone, trying to crush whatever is coming their way and when it seems like they were not going to win, they cry out like they were really been attacked real life until the tool is removed from their faces. This is to show how real this is, giving users the opportunity to have fun.
Also Medically, there are times we hear about medical doctors practicalizing on patients for a first time surgery which they've learnt how to go about theoretically but we all know practice makes perfect not just about reading. In this process, some patients lose their lives due to an error or the other probably caused by a mistake or anxiety but inclusion of VR in healthcare, surgeons have the opportunity to have a first hand practical knowledge of how the surgery would go, giving a first hand knowledge on what to face or encounter during the process.
Not only is VR useful for the medical practitioners alone but also the patients so they can be aware of what their health solution procedures entails to eradicate any form of fear that may want to hinder them from proceeding with their health treatment.
Now as useful as VR is, the question is will it fuel addiction or suppress creativity? The simple answer is that it is possible that it fuels addiction and even put it on massive motion and not just fueling alone because humans tend to misuse any slight opportunity of something we have access to.
For instance, the tendency of users spending more time on virtual reality games is high which might cause damages to health, causing users some health sicknesses due to excessive use and about how they feel especially when playing the VR games.
Aside the misuse, VR will be a great use to relieving stress, health therapy and trainings and improving overall human well-being.
