In this video, I wanted to share a little alpha that was recently dropped in the Shard Holders room on the Splinterlands discord server. It seems like we might be getting the bridge to the Base chain as soon as August 26th which is very exciting.
I've talked about this quite a bit already but just as a quick refresher - the Base chain is the layer 2 solution on top of Ethereum that was created by Coinbase, one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world and one of the most prominent in the US. By bridging SPS to Base, there will be a direct path for someone to use fiat to get USDC from Coinbase, transfer it out to their Base wallet, and swap it directly for SPS. The DAO is even going to be providing an SPS-USDC liquidity pool on Base to make this swap available and as easy as possible for people to acquire SPS. I assume direct transfers into the game will be allowed around the same time and at that point, it would be very simple for anyone to use Coinbase to get SPS into the game.
The Splinterlands team and SPS DAO continue firing on all cylinders by putting out new features and easing up pathways for entry. Exciting times ahead!
