The Book Cover
The following digital painting was commissioned by the award winning author, RD Ronald for his book Carpe Diem. The painting and title are very relevant to the book and actually made sense; however the publisher had other ideas.
The book briefly mentions a business called The Zombie Room which has nothing to do with actual zombies. Ultimately, the publisher decided that they wanted the title of the book to be called The Zombie Room instead of Carpe Diem, which really didn't make any sense. They also wanted their own artists to create the cover.
My assumption is that they were just looking for an excuse to get more royalties out of the book by using their own artists. Even though the cover was never used, I still like the painting and thought I'd share it with the Hive community. What do you think?
