Beat Cop is an Adventure/Simulation game following a Patrol Policeman as he juggles his daily duties, relationships, and the various groups that compete over the control of the city. It's another game from my backlog, that I had fun playing for a few hours, and would love to come back to it again in the future.

Beat Cop
I love the humor of this game, it has 90s Police movies films vibes. I haven't watched western movies of that type, to be honest, but I know the vibe from the western media I've seen throughout the years. They captured that vibe really well!!
The game isn't easy, as you'd have to juggle multiple tasks each in-game day. You're not required to do all of them, and it's smart to only focus on some. Not only the tasks take time from each other, some tasks' results actively undermine other tasks. During my playtrhough it wasn't uncommon to have a net negative results at the end of the day, because the tasks I've chosen didn't work in favor of each other...
I stopped playing after I realized I was at disadvantage after I fumbled multiple days in row. If I played the game again, and I hope I do, I'll start a fresh New Game with better understanding for the games' mechanics.
The story itself is great!
The art and pacing makes it a bit comedic feeling, but it's dark when you stop and think about it. Characters die. It's very easy to become immoral or a hypocrite just in the pursuit of the daily income. The threat of not being able to pay debts, or being framed for a crime you didn't commit makes doing the immoral thing tempting. To be fair, I'm not even sure you can beat Beat Cop while doing a Virtuous Run!
