Valkyria Chronicles is a Turn-Based Strategy game set in a fantasy world based on World War II. The story follows Squad 7 of the Gallian Army, as they push back against the Empire threatening to invade their land. It's an anime-style war story, with a lot of heart!
I love this game's presentation. The storybook frame around every scene, the water-colors filter on top of 3D models. The way the story is predented if it's a History Book! It's originally a PS3 game, but it has better animations & presentations compared to modern games in 2025. Playing it is a treat for me, and I hope watching my playthrough would be a treat for you too.

After the battle, Welkin learns that his friend, Faldio is the one who shot Alicia. Records show that the bullet used to shoot her is from an experimental sniper rifle, and the only one out of the lab was the one faldio checked out... It's sad.
Welkin ecnounters Faldio and calls him out on it, but Faldio says he doesn't regret the decision. Alicia is a Valkyrie, and he awakened her powers. Gallia now has a Valkyria on its own. No country will think of attacking them with their Valkyrie protecting it...
Welkin disagrees... Winning the war with the power of Valkyria isn't a win. Never reaching an agreement, the two friends part ways. (Faldio is temporarily sent to prison for attacking a fellow soldier.)
I have to agree though... They wouldn't have won the previous battle without using Alicia's powers...
