Fue un espacio donde tuve la oportunidad de conocer y aprender sobre el esfuerzo que hacen algunas personas y organizaciones para proteger y conservar a la fauna venezolana.

El **proyecto de conservación del Oso Frontino**, busca darle más fuerza a esa iniciativa de crear una especie de corredor que una, los Parques Nacionales Terepaima y Yacambú, para darle mayor protección. El único úrsido que tenemos en el Sur del continente, que antiguamente fue muy cazado por miedo o por temas religiosos, lastimosamente hoy en día su principal amenaza es la constante expansión de la frontera agrícola.

Desde hace tiempo soy fan de la **Fundación Chuwie El Galán,** un equipo que desde hace 5 años ha estado rescatando perezas electrocutadas, arrolladas por el tráfico cuando salen del bosque en todo Distrito Capital y Miranda. Desde su fundación, llevas unos mil rescates hasta ahora.

De las ponencias más interesantes, fue la de las **Guacamayas**, a pesar de que son una de las especies en mayor peligro de extinción por el tráfico ilegal, una gran parte que de la población de Guacamayas en Venezuela, están ubicadas en Caracas, lo que no necesariamente es bueno, desplazan a otras especies y dejan de cumplir un papel muy importante en los bosques y selvas.
>One of the most interesting presentations was on ** macaws**. Although they are one of the species most at risk of extinction due to illegal trafficking, a large part of the macaw population in Venezuela is located here in Caracas, which is not necessarily a good thing. Por último, dos ponencias que me sorprendieron, desconocía por completo los esfuerzos que se hacen para conservar el** Sapito Arlequin**, una especie casi extinta, y el **Caimán del Orinoco,** ambos proyectos tiene zoocriaderos, que les permiten reintroducir a las especies, y en el caso del segundo, han estado trabajando con la comunidad para beneficiarlas del ecoturismo.
>Finally, two presentations surprised me. I was completely unaware of the efforts being made to conserve the **Harlequin Toad**, an almost extinct species, and **the Orinoco Caiman**. Both projects have breeding centers that allow them to reintroduce the species, and in the case of the latter, they have been working with the community to benefit from ecotourism.
