Hii, dear readers of the #HiveBookClub 📚
- If you're a masochist - If you like dramatic books - And if you want to understand the crazy drunk Haymitch, remember and be amazed by how RUTHLESS Snow is...
What are you waiting for? Run and read the book
**Sunrise on the Reaping** is a gem. It recounts the games of Haymitch Abernathy (Hay), how our beloved intelligent and skilled “Rogue,” who risked everything thinking he was going to die in that arena, against all odds, became the winner of the **second Quarter Quell, the 50th Hunger Games**, and how his life took a turn for the worse from the day of the reaping. It's a cruel, captivating book. Collins' pen is sharp, more precise. You spend part of the book getting to know the Capitol better, Hay's family, his friends, and the other tributes. The encounters with Snow are much more ruthless. There is no room for laughter, only a few moments of calm that serve to distract you a little and make you grow fond of people you know are going to die.
My favorite character is Maysilee, that stuck-up girl from District 12 is unstoppable. Besides, appearances sometimes hide beautiful things, and I think she is one of those cases. Those who, guided by the movies, came to think that Hay might have had something with Effie were wrong. Here we meet his girl, his eternal love, his Leonore Dove.

You learn about the youth of some key characters in the trilogy, such as Beetee, Wiress, Caesar, Plutarch, and the adorable Mags. These are pieces that help you better understand Catching Fire, the beginning of that alliance that led to the revolution with Katniss. The book makes you understand Hay's terror when Kat and Peeta challenge the Capitol in their first games. He knows what Snow is capable of; he won't stop until he takes everything from them, just as he did to him.

I think Suzanne gave us the heartbreaking story we were expecting. It had to be something brutal that would allow us to understand why Hay was the way he was, why he called Katniss “precious,” why he drowned himself in alcohol, and why, despite his loneliness and all the years he had to send tributes to the games and watch them die, he remained alive until the arrival of the girl on fire.
I have high expectations for the film adaptation. I think they'll do a good job, as they did with the original trilogy. I don't think I'll read it again or see the movie more than once. I'm not a fan of bitter endings, but I think this is a book that's worth it, that leaves you heartbroken, but that you don't regret.

Well, friends, that's all for today's post. I hope you enjoyed it.
