Halleluyah dearly beloved, it's another time @mcgicares . I'm so happy to share my perspective on whether we are financially responsible for others. Brother Eli has spoken and buttressed the fact that we are to have compassion on others as Christians, and I will also say fingers aren't equal. So far we have the capacity, we can extend financial help to others. We are actually blessed to bless others and the truth is we have the needy everywhere around us . The Bible makes it clear in the book of Deuteronomy 15:11 that "...the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land."

So, we are obligated to help the needy around us. It is not the matter of whether we like it or not, it's God's commandment. Also, the truth is that no one is exempted from helping others, because we will always find someone that we are better than, no matter our condition. So, as Christians, we are to help. In fact, the Bible says we shouldn't even withhold help nor make the needy tarry and weary before we help them.

Psalms 3:27-28, "Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. (28) Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Many of us only help when we feel like. Even when we have the capacity but don't feel like, we send the needy away, and ask them to come next time, and we often justify this by saying he/she is not my responsibility. This is not what God commanded us. We are to give generously to the needy and not turning our back against them. We are our brother's keeper and we can be held accountable for them. Also, we may say the world is large and we don't know whom to help, who really needs help nor where to start. This is not an excuse for a Christian. We can start by caring for the needy around us, for the needy in the church, or our fellow believers that need assistance, So, if we have the capacity, we can be financially responsible for these ones and also unto others. The Bible says,

"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." Galatians 6:10. We have so many responsibilities as Christians, which include helping others financially.
