Why would I be a Teacher?

Hi my people, it's really a nice time to be here, to learn from fellow educators and several other people as well. I thank God that things are taking shape now. At least better than before. I really passed through a lot when I decided to study education in school. People mocked me and concluded that I was not brilliant. You know the stereotype, they believe teaching is less a profession, because they don't earn much.

Truly, it was like that then and probably now in some areas. It actually took me a lot of courage to study education in the university. There was a way the community make you feel inferior if you tell them you want to an educationist, but looking back, I thank God I stood my ground. Though the salary is still less attractive in this part of the world, I am still happy, seeing the number of students I have imparted. Seriously, there is no better feeling.

I started teaching officially in 2017, and I have many of my students in the universities, studying various courses such as Medicine, Engineering, nursing and the likes.I even have few of them in the universities that are studying the same education because they are passionate about it. Education is about touching it and there are thousands out there that won't trade it for anything. In fact , through teaching I have made some great impact that I never considered possible. I have met many students that were hopeless and depressed, but our interactions changed everything.

We even go beyond just teaching as teachers, we provide all kinds of support morally, psychologically, mentally and even financially from the little we have. It pains a lot when we see traumatized children and how they struggle in class. Teachers put in their best to ease their burden and make them comfortable. Teachers are saviours, only if the world knows their worth. I appreciate those parts of the world where education and teachers are appreciated. I have read so much about Finland in particular. They have the best brains in teaching field, they remunerate them well. They give them fair workload and considerate time to rest at good intervals.

I really hope things also become better in our own part of the world to. Teachers are really trying. They give their all. Teachers don't have to die before getting their rewards. It's not bad if that profession is more appreciated than it is now. Teachers taught doctors, engineers, even governors and presidents. They shouldn't be treated anyhow, but always commended and appreciated always.
