HI! Today I'm bringing you the video of my performance at a recent talent show where I performed a cover of the song “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” from the movie The Phantom of the Opera.
This is one of my favorite songs from that musical (particularly the movie version), and in fact, it was that movie that made me realize I have a voice for singing lyrically or opera, and that made me go looking for lessons, because before that I thought I couldn't sing because the songs sounded bad to me. I have a very high-pitched voice (especially at that age, around 14 or 15), and it turns out that my voice is made for a particular type of music, and those things happen. It's just that you don't learn that at the beggining but along on the way, so if your voice doesn't fit the songs you sing, try other genres; maybe you're meant for something different.
About this video, I apologize, but the audio isn't the best, and therefore my voice sounds a little bad, in addition to some mistakes I made. The video was recorded on a phone that wasn't mine (mine had the instrumental track from my performance) and it didn't pick up the full sound very well or in the same way it sounded in the room.
It only picked up the vocals in a somewhat magnetic way, almost none of the instrumental track, and I didn't love how it sounded, even though the friend who recorded me was right in front of the speakers next to where I was sitting, and everything sounded great live. She even sent me the video of my other friends who performed, and they had the same experience as me. you can hear the voice in a peculiar way that's nothing like what I heard when they were playing (let me know if you want to see that clip too).
However, I appreciate that they recorded me and that I have this memory, plus you can hear some of my voice and it's not too bad. At the end, I'll also leave you a clip from another friend who recorded me, where the sound is a little better, although it's only a part of the song and has details such as the image not moving, but I wanted to leave it in to show another perspective from another phone, although again it was not even remotely similar to how it sounded in the room.
I should also make it clear that this isn't one of my best performances, as I didn't practice much. I found out about it two days before I signed up, and my nerves made me shake, and my voice is a bit hoarse because I haven't been to class in a while and I've been a bit sick. But you have to throw yourself into events to overcome the stage fright I've been having lately, as well as do what I really love to do and haven't been able to do in a loooong time, ..haha. Mind you, this isn't an excuse, it's simply acknowledging that I'm not in the best vocal shape, it's not an excellent performance, and I need to improve, even though I was happy with the result, despite cracking on some high notes, haha.
In the future, I hope to be able to do a higher quality cover soon. I just wanted to share this little chapter of my artistic career with you 🙂 I hope you like it, and I'll read your comments 😀 Cheers!

¡HI! hoy les vengo a traer el video de mi presentación en un reciente show de talentos donde me presenté haciendo un cover del tema “Wishing you were somehow here again” de la película fantasma de la ópera
Esta es una de las piezas de ese musical (particularmente la versión de la película) que a mí más me gusta y de hecho esa fue la película que me hizo darme cuenta que tengo voz para cantar líricamente oea ópera y que me hizo ir a buscar clases, porque antes de eso pensaba que yo podía cantar porque las canciones me sonaban mal, yo soy muy aguda (y más como a esa edad, tipo 15 o 14 años) y resulta que es que mi voz está hecha para un tipo de música particular y esas cosas pasan Solo que no lo aprenden el camino, así que si tu voz no se ajusta a las canciones que canta prueba más géneros, quizás estés hech@ para algo diferente
Sobre este video, me disculpo pero el audio no es el mejor y por ende mi voz se oye algo mal, además de algunos pelones que me eché, el video fue grabado de un teléfono que no era el mío (el mío tenía la pista instrumental de mi presentación) y que no recogió muy bien el sonido completo o de la misma manera que se escuchaba en la sala. 0 Solo recogió la voz de forma algo magnética, casi nada de la pista instrumental y no me encantó como se oye a pesar de que justamente esta amiga que me grabó estaba al frente de las cornetas al lado de donde yo estaba sentada y ahi en vivo se oía todo genial, incluso me paso el video de otros amigos míos que se presentaron y les paso como a mi, se oye más que todo la voz de una forma peculiar nada similar a lo que yo escuchaba cuando ellos tocaban (déjenme saber si quieren ver ese clip también)
Sin embargo, aprecio que me grabaran y tener este recuerdo además que si se oye algo de mi voz y no está tan mal. También al final les dejo un clip de otro amigo que me grabo donde se recoge poquito mejor el sonido aunque solo es un pedazo de la canción y tiene detalles como que no se mueve la imagen pero de maneras quise dejarlo para mostrar otra perspectiva de otro teléfono, aunque nuevamente no fue ni remotamente similar a como se oía en la sala
Igual también dejar claro que no es de mis mejores presentaciones ya que no practique mucho, me enteré en inscribo dos días antes de hecho, los nervios me hicieron temblar y tengo algo empolvada la voz porque no he ido a clases en un tiempo y he estado algo enferma, pero igual hay que lanzarse a los eventos para perder el miedo escénico que últimamente estoy teniendo además de hacer lo que realmente amo hacer y no he podido en muuuuuucho tiempo jeje. Ojo no es excusa es simplemente reconocer que no estoy en la mejor forma vocal, no es una presentación excelente y que debo mejorar a pesar de que estuve contenta con el resultado, a pesar de que se me craqueo en algunos altos jejej.
El el futuro espero poder hacer un cover con más calidad próximamente, solamente quería compartirles este pequeño capítulo de mi carrera artística 🙂
