Lately, I’ve been doing bits of needlework here and there, and I thought it would be nice to share some of the things I finished to @needleworkmonday after a while.
Sashiko Coasters
Sashiko is a Japanese style of embroidery, once used to mend and strengthen everyday clothes, now enjoyed as a decorative hand-stitching with simple, geometric designs.
The embroidery itself had been done for quite some time, but I finally turned the fabric into coasters. I’m thinking about offering a small sashiko workshop before the Christmas gift season.
Beaded Necklace
On the way to my garden, there’s a lovely bead shop that I often can’t resist stopping by. My daughter has also become a big fan of this shop… so recently we’ve been playing with beads. I realized I really love natural motifs, so I made a necklace using tiny flower-shaped beads. It would also look cute as a bracelet or anklet.
Helping with My Daughter’s Super Chunky Crochet
Well, it really shows she is my child—she loves crafts and craft supply stores as much as I do. When we stopped by together the other day, she found this super chunky fluffy yarn. I hesitated because it’s synthetic and the price 17 EUR(!), but her passion convinced me to buy it. I showed her how to crochet with fingers, and she went on to make a bag and a hat. The hat… looks a bit like a brain. In the end I'm glad that we decided to buy it.
We casually started knitting together in the winter of 2023, but maybe this coming winter we’ll dive into it more and she may finish a piece.
What’s Next...
My own shirt and @pupiko’s bag. Since Pupiko is going on a business trip next week to meet the minister of the province, I’ll probably make the Pupi bag first.
Needlework is such fun. Summer is still lingering, but I’m already looking forward to spending more time sewing and crafting at home in the coming season.

刺し子のコースター
刺繍自体はしてあって、長らく放置していた布をようやくコースターの形にしました。差し子はクリスマスのギフトシーズンを前にワークショップをしたいななんて考えています。
ビーズのネックレス
庭に行く途中にある素敵なビーズ屋さんについつい立ち寄ってしまい、子供もこのお店のファンになり・・・このところよくビーズで遊んでいます。私はやっぱり自然のモチーフが好きなようで、ちいさな花のビーズをネックレスにしました。ブレスレットやアンクレットにしてもかわいいですね！
子供の極太系かぎ針編みのお手伝い
なんというかまあ私の子供という感じで、手芸も手芸用品展も大好きです。先日一緒に立ち寄ったらこの極太のふわふの毛糸が売られていて、化繊なのが気になりましたが、彼女の情熱に負けて買いました。指でかぎ針編みをする方法を教えたら、バッグと帽子を作っていました。帽子は、脳みそみたいです 😅
2023年の冬からなんとなく一緒に編み物を始めましたが、今年の冬は本格的に編み物をできるかな？

自分のシャツと @pupiko のバッグです。Pupikoは来週出張の予定があるので、Pupiバッグを先に作ろうと思います。
針仕事って楽しいですね。まだ夏は残っていますが、これからの季節、家で針仕事をするのが楽しみです。
