I captured a neon cuckoo bee (Thyreus nitidulus) while walking through the grassy fields. The cuckoo bee has a stocky body with bright black bands. It perched on a dry twig, not grasping it with its legs but biting it with its powerful jaws, making it appear to float. Occasionally, it opened its wings to keep itself balanced and from tilting. When it heard the crunch of dry leaf litter, it flew away for a moment but then returned to the same twig.
This is another entry I submitted for the daily #monomad challenge.
