Welcome to Afri-tunes Week 177. It’s your boy @akwash360, and in this week’s edition, I’ll be doing a cover of the song “Nara (Accept My Praise)”, originally performed by Tim Godfrey and Travis Greene. This song has always been one of my favorites, especially when it first came out. I vividly remember how it trended that year. It was honestly a beautiful experience.
One of the reasons I deeply love this song is because, first and foremost, it’s a gospel song, and I’m someone who truly enjoys listening to gospel music. More than that, it is a meaningful and well-composed piece that carries a powerful message. Unlike some gospel songs that leave you with little or no impact no matter how many times you listen, this particular one speaks clearly about God’s faithfulness to His children. It reminds us of how much God has done for us, things so numerous and deep that words can't fully express them.
The sound quality of the music is also exceptional. From the vocal tones to the delivery, both artists are remarkably talented. I especially admire how Travis Greene skillfully switches between pitches, it’s simply amazing, and I enjoyed every part of his performance. The backup singers also did a fantastic job; their harmonies were on point, and every vocal part came through clearly and professionally. It’s evident they took the time to master their roles.
The instrumentalists were equally impressive. They handled their instruments with such ease and professionalism, producing sounds that were smooth, rich, and enjoyable. Their contribution truly elevated the overall quality of the song.
Because of how much I love the original track, I decided to create this cover. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed recording it.
