Hay canciones que, aunque las hayas escuchado mil veces, siguen tocándote cada vez como si fuera la primera. “If I Ain’t Got You” de Alicia Keys es una de esas. No importa en qué momento de tu vida estés, siempre te hace pensar en lo esencial: en lo que realmente vale. Y no, no es el dinero, ni la fama, ni los lujos… es alguien. Ese alguien que, si está, lo demás sobra.
Siempre sentí una conexión fuerte con esta canción, y por eso decidí hacerla en piano solo. Sin voz, sin letra… solo dejando que la melodía diga lo que hay que decir. Porque lo más lindo de esta canción es que, incluso sin palabras, se entiende todo. Cada acorde tiene una intención, una emoción. No es solo bonita, es honesta.
Cuando la toco, trato de no pensar demasiado. Solo sentir. Porque esta canción no se interpreta con técnica, se toca con el alma. Hay momentos donde el silencio entre las notas dice tanto como las notas mismas. Es como si el piano hablara por vos, como si sacara algo que a veces no sabés cómo poner en palabras.
No quise hacer un arreglo complicado. Al contrario. Busqué mantenerla lo más simple y sincera posible, porque creo que ahí está su fuerza. En lo crudo, en lo directo, en lo que te mueve por dentro sin hacer mucho ruido.
“If I Ain’t Got You” me recuerda que, al final del día, lo más importante no siempre es lo que está a la vista. A veces, lo esencial se siente, se escucha bajito… como una melodía que te acaricia el alma.
