El día de hoy voy a contarles acerca de una travesía que realicé hace algunos meses en bicicleta. Yo, como saben, soy de Pedraza, del estado Barinas/ Venezuela, tengo muchas montañas cerca y muchos ríos muy hermosos a los que puedo visitar. Entonces, para salir un poco de la rutina, quise hacer un viaje en bicicleta aproximadamente de 42 kilómetros, todo en carretera de montaña, piedra.

Claro, este viaje lo hice acompañada de algunos amigos y familiares, ya que es un viaje bastante largo, exigente, y de por sí, pues no me parece muy buena idea hacer bicicleta sola por cuestiones de seguridad y porque no soy una atleta jeje, sino que me gusta solamente disfrutar de los lugares naturales y aprovecho de hacer ejercicio de vez en cuando.

Fue muy genial, la verdad. Nosotros nos dirigimos hacia la acequia, que es como el lugar base de iniciar la travesía. Luego empezamos nuestro recorrido hacia Caño Grande, el recorrido lo comenzamos en horas de la mañana.
It was really cool, to be honest. We headed towards the irrigation ditch, which is like the starting point for the journey. Then we began our journey to Caño Grande, starting in the morning.
Duramos unas 4 horas aproximadamente andando en bicicleta de subida (sin contar los descansos), ya que, como les dije, es bastante exigente el terreno, muchas piedras sueltas.

Although our bikes are mountain bikes, they are not, shall we say, the best or the best equipped.

- Llevar refrigerio y frutas.

- Tener lo necesario para reparar tu bici, en caso de que lo amerite.

- Bringing enough water to stay hydrated.

Enfatizo mucho lo de ir acompañado, en mi caso, ya que esta es una zona montañosa, puede haber animales salvajes, como, culebras, alacranes, un sinfín de cosas, así que preferiblemente ir en grupo o por lo menos con una pareja.

😎Un poco más sobre la travesía: "A little more about the journey"
También aprovechamos e hicimos una parada superestratégica en un pozo superhermoso que viene siendo como un brazo del río La Acequia. Demasiado bello el lugar. Es un área privada porque pertenece a una finca de una persona. Tuvimos que pedir permiso para poder entrar allí, pero pudimos disfrutar del agua un par de horas y tomamos esa fuerza para continuar.
We also took advantage of the opportunity to make a strategic stop at a beautiful well that is like an arm of the La Acequia River. The place was incredibly beautiful. It is private property because it belongs to someone's farm. We had to ask permission to enter, but we were able to enjoy the water for a couple of hours and recharge our batteries to continue on.---

Aprovechamos e hicimos un recorrido por las montañas del lugar. Tuvimos una vista muy hermosa, aunque para ese entonces habían muchos incendios forestales. Había mucho calor, muchas plantas secas, y lamentablemente vimos del camino de regreso mucho fuego en las montañas. Los habitantes de esas fincas trataban de apagar el fuego. Fue algo muy feo, la verdad.
We took advantage of the opportunity and went on a tour of the local mountains. We had a beautiful view, although at that time there were many forest fires. It was very hot, there were many dry plants, and unfortunately on the way back we saw a lot of fire in the mountains. The inhabitants of those farms were trying to put out the fire. Ver esto, fue como una visión de, digamos, la otra cara de la moneda, de lo que puede ser un lugar. Les invito a tomar conciencia también a las personas que visitan estos lugares o hacen viajes. Mantengan sus cosas, traten de guardar toda su basura, sus residuos y no dejarlos por allí, ya que por lo general siempre la gente va a estos sitios a recrearse y deja mucha basura en este lugar y eso trae luego muchas consecuencias.
Seeing this was like seeing the other side of the coin, so to speak, of what a place can be. I invite people who visit these places or go on trips to also be aware of this. Keep your belongings with you, try to keep all your trash and waste with you and don't leave it lying around, because people usually go to these places for recreation and leave a lot of trash behind, which then has many consequences.
😕Un poco de nostalgia..."A little nostalgia"
Tengo mucho tiempo que ya no hago este tipo de recorridos. Muchos de mis amigos ya no están en el país y pues no he tenido la oportunidad de juntarme con otro grupo de personas que tengan la misma pasión por las bicicletas y por recorrer en la naturaleza. Pero si ustedes tienen la oportunidad de hacer este tipo de actividades, no se lo pierdan. A pesar del agotamiento físico que netamente da, si no eres deportista como yo, vale la pena mirar muchas cosas en el camino, compartir con amigos, compartir historias y reír. Reír y reír.
I haven't done this kind of tour in a long time. Many of my friends are no longer in the country, and I haven't had the opportunity to get together with another group of people who share the same passion for bicycles and exploring nature. But if you have the opportunity to do this kind of activity, don't miss it.
