Hoy les voy a contar acerca de unas viajeras muy elocuentes que nos topamos hace algún tiempo, las cuales recibimos en nuestro hogar para poder colaborar con lo que es la unión motera en Venezuela y poder hacer de la estadía de estas dos chicas excepcionales y valientes a concluir su travesía por Venezuela.

Today I am going to tell you about some very eloquent travelers we met some time ago, whom we welcomed into our home in order to collaborate with the biker community in Venezuela and help these two exceptional and brave girls complete their journey through Venezuela.

Como ya les he contado en un post anterior, nosotros recibimos hace tiempo ya a un viajero colombiano por los contactos de mi hermana con las personas que se encuentran en los Grupos de ayuda a moteros en Venezuela.

As I mentioned in a previous post, some time ago we welcomed a Colombian traveler through my sister's contacts with people in the motorcyclist support groups in Venezuela.

Así que en otra oportunidad nos comunicaron para saber si podíamos darles estadía a estas dos viajeras, una viajera francesa y otra colombiana, que son pareja y que iban viajando a “Lo pobre” jeje, como dicen ellas, por toda América.

So, on another occasion, they contacted us to ask if we could provide accommodation for these two travelers, one French and one Colombian, who are a couple and were traveling “on a shoestring,” as they say, throughout America.

Las chicas llegaron a nuestro hogar un día por la tarde, allí las conocimos, hablamos acerca de los lugares que habían recorrido. Dentro de muchas historias, nos comentaron que empezaron a viajar por Francia, Italia, España, recorrieron muchos viajes en bicicleta.

The girls arrived at our home one afternoon, where we met them and talked about the places they had visited. Among their many stories, they told us that they had started traveling through France, Italy, and Spain, and had made many trips by bicycle.

Empezaron sus rutas primero en bicicleta y luego al llegar a Colombia decidieron comprarse una moto con los ahorros, ya que son unas viajeras artesanas, al igual que yo, realizan lo que es bisutería artesanal, con conchas, con piedras, con materiales que también han comprado o que les regalan en el camino y con ello tienen el sustento para poder vivir.

They began their journeys first by bicycle and then, upon arriving in Colombia, they decided to buy a motorcycle with their savings. Like me, they are artisan travelers who make handmade jewelry using shells, stones, and other materials that they have purchased or received as gifts along the way, which provides them with a livelihood.

Además, estas chicas son muy talentosas, son músicos, así que aprovecharon las oportunidades para llegar a bares o restaurantes y con su talento musical, obtener dinero para costear sus recorridos. La verdad son unas personas con una historia muy interesante, les voy a contar un poquito de lo que pasó y un poco de lo que fue la experiencia en compartir con unas personas con esta cultura totalmente distinta.

In addition, these girls are very talented musicians, so they took advantage of opportunities to perform in bars and restaurants, using their musical talent to earn money to pay for their travels. They really are people with a very interesting story. I'm going to tell you a little bit about what happened and what it was like to share experiences with people from a completely different culture.

🏠Tiempo en casa: "Time at home"

Luego de conocerlas un poco, le ofrecimos un lugar para dormir, pero decidieron acampar en nuestro patio que es bastante amplio, ya que ellas venían totalmente equipadas con su camping.

After getting to know them a little, we offered them a place to sleep, but they decided to camp in our yard, which is quite spacious, since they came fully equipped with their camping gear.

Luego, al otro día, decidimos salir con ellas, llevarlas a un lugar muy hermoso entre las montañas de Barinas, Venezuela, donde se encuentran uno de los pozos más bonitos y limpios que yo he visto. Actualmente, qué pena, pero no se puede tener acceso a él, ya que ahora es una propiedad privada, antes sí se podía pasear, ir hasta allí y hasta acampar como nosotros hicimos esa noche.

Then, the next day, we decided to go out with them, taking them to a beautiful spot in the mountains of Barinas, Venezuela, where one of the most beautiful and cleanest wells I have ever seen is located. Unfortunately, it is currently inaccessible, as it is now private property. Before, you could walk there, go there, and even camp there, as we did that night.

🌄Camping...

Fue muy divertido, ya que pues, nosotros llegamos al campo, nos instalamos e hicimos nuestra fogata, preparamos nuestra cena, hablamos, nos contaron historias de todo ello que han visto al recorrer varios países. También son músicos, como dije anteriormente, y disfrutamos de música en vivo. Ellas nos hicieron, como decimos, una “serenata” en la orilla del río por la noche al lado de la fogata. Fue una experiencia muy bonita.

It was a lot of fun because when we arrived at the campsite, we set up camp and made a bonfire, prepared our dinner, talked, and they told us stories about everything they had seen while traveling through various countries. They are also musicians, as I mentioned earlier, and we enjoyed live music. They gave us what we call a “serenade” on the riverbank at night by the bonfire. It was a very beautiful experience.

Son muy de poco hablar, pero lo que nos contaron fueron grandes historias que quedarán en nosotros. Ellas iban a partir hacia otro lugar, iban hacia la playa, ya que les propusimos que esa sería una mejor idea de poder vender sus artesanías allá, ya que hay más turistas, más personas que van a estos lugares a llevarse un pedacito de la tierra con ellos.

They don't talk much, but what they told us were great stories that will stay with us. They were leaving for another place, they were going to the beach, since we suggested that it would be a better idea to sell their crafts there, as there are more tourists, more people who go to these places to take a little piece of the land with them.

Y así partieron “Las francesas”, duramos dos días acompañándolas hasta que se fueron en su motico. Solamente quiero decir que para viajar y para tener buenas experiencias no necesitas ser millonario, solamente necesitas perseverancia, constancia, y algo de buena suerte.

And so “Las Francesas” left. We spent two days accompanying them until they left on their motorbike. I just want to say that to travel and have good experiences, you don't need to be a millionaire. You just need perseverance, determination, and a little bit of luck.
