🌱 Una nueva etapa: “A new chapter”
Antes de dedicarme de lleno a la artesanía y las manualidades, pasé mucho tiempo de mi vida trabajando en tiendas y negocios en atención al cliente. Se me presentaron varias oportunidades de trabajo donde reforcé el arte de las manualidades. Y luego de un tiempo, tomé la decisión de darle un nuevo rumbo a mi vida y crear mi emprendimiento; no fue nada sencillo, ya que se presentaron muchas cosas negativas, pero al final logré sobrellevarlo. Y asumí el riesgo.
Before fully dedicating myself to crafts and handmade work, I spent a good part of my life working in stores and customer service. I had several job opportunities where I got to strengthen my skills in the art of crafting. After a while, I made the decision to take my life in a new direction and start my own venture. It wasn’t easy at all—many negative things came up—but in the end, I managed to get through it. And I took the risk.
✂️ Empecé con lo que sabía hacer: "I started with what I already knew".
Al principio, empecé con todo aquello que aprendí desde joven, como lo es las pulseras tejidas con mostacillas y macramé, también incursione en el alambrismo; una técnica que la verdad para mí es espectacular, me encanta, pero lamentablemente no fue algo que llamo la atención del público, es decir, de mis clientes. Así que, trate de diversificar todo lo que hacía, sin dejar de lado lo que me apasiona.
At the beginning, I started with everything I had learned from a young age, like beaded and macramé bracelets. I also got into wire art—a technique that, honestly, I find amazing. I love it. But unfortunately, it wasn’t something that caught the attention of the public, I mean, my clients. So, I tried to diversify everything I was doing, without leaving behind what I’m passionate about.---

Adaptarse en la clave, por lo menos en mi caso eso funcionó, ya que si quería monetizar con el arte, eso debía hacer. ¿Qué fue lo que hice?
Adapting to the trend—at least in my case—that’s what worked, because if I wanted to monetize my art, that’s what I had to do. So, what did I do?

- Ofrecí, también, cajas personalizadas, toppers, detalles de cumpleaños y decoraciones especiales (aunque este último aún no es mi fuerte, pero trato de mejorar jeje)

- Algo que llamó mucha la atención de mis clientes es el área escolar. Comencé a elaborar: lapbooks, láminas de exposición, periódicos escolares, maquetas y mucho más. Y esto actualmente es lo más rentable en mi mercado.
Something that really caught my clients’ attention was the school projects area. I started creating lapbooks, presentation sheets, school newspapers, models, and much more. And right now, this is the most profitable in my market.

Estoy muy feliz con lo que he alcanzado, valió la pena arriesgarme, y buscar mi emprendimiento, y ha sido un viaje de autoconocimiento, sobre mis capacidades y mis debilidades. He buscado tener un equilibrio, entre lo que me gusta hacer y lo que me puede generar ingresos.
I’m very happy with what I’ve achieved. It was worth taking the risk and pursuing my own business. It has been a journey of self-discovery—about my strengths and weaknesses. I’ve tried to find a balance between what I enjoy doing and what can generate income.

Es algo fácil de decir, pero siempre manténganse optimistas, es algo que ayuda a seguir adelante y luchar por tus sueños. Hay muchas personas con talento, en lo poco que llevo en Hive he visto personas mega talentosas con ganas de mostrar en que son buenos, y me alegra de verdad que estén trabajando en ello. Y me gustaría seguir aprendiendo y viendo más de ustedes.
It’s easy to say, but always stay optimistic—it really helps to keep moving forward and fight for your dreams. There are many talented people, and in the short time I’ve been on Hive, I’ve seen incredibly talented folks eager to show what they’re good at. It truly makes me happy to see them working on it. I’d love to keep learning and seeing more from all of you.
