I'm super excited because I finally got to climb Ávila. This was a trip I've been wanting to take for a long time, and I love it. El Ávila is a national park located in Caracas, Venezuela, which is why Venezuelans appreciate and take great care of it. ![IMG_4192.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23uFPdUwWjdsmajrKCbyaTFtPMHN2pZ2cetaTryE4aJbmxwNTZ5LQbrHUPGvp21kACJEt.jpeg) ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmR7V3nVs1xsjEQrtuHKrzaDSY27Lg1BaWPpLtxixVqDaP/1757355081296.jpg) ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmNschs7dHt9a5qvzq28ggBMk3iABx17NzTgt1ZiHdpAY5/1757355081330.jpg) ![IMG_4197.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23rAttqXnBimWBEFvy9gMN16BEKBFHbVboTMXPncGuvp5LytumMxURYEMbDFGwtkXx7rg.jpeg) ![IMG_4196.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23xov6RjUJEsc4ho1WXadtHykCfuDECfxyQDqR1vmzkS9vvEWTuZk1A1EHokGwuzbrdtk.jpeg) My companions today were my mom, my cousin Rania, and her mom Jaqueline. My family and I used to take this trip a lot when my brother and I were little, with other relatives and friends, which is why I was so excited to go to El Ávila. It also brought back many memories of when I used to climb it as a child. ![IMG_4207.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/EoK6rs4t78wQX5xHa9pRziHfFTrptnTpv1SqF1vnhiWjaU1k4jrPdFE2a1Ur1mGMHAD.jpeg) ![IMG_4203.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23wC7vmXQH5abba2mabpga3jas3tAg5AG2XfAmAPSF6Tzp3VMt3iQyQaeeFL8Y7mQUsuz.jpeg) When you start climbing Ávila from the San Bernardino side, you'll notice that there are three or four little stalls selling ice cream, cakes, cookies, and even tizana. At the top of the mountain, there's also a lady selling ice cream. I think this is an incredible way to exercise because you can do it in different ways: walking, jogging, or even cycling, as several people were doing today. There are also people who climb with their pets, so as you climb, you interact with lots of dogs. It's a great way to connect with nature, as all the green areas are very well maintained and there is no trash anywhere. Along the way up, there are places to sit and rest, and we took advantage of this so that Jaqueline could do some static exercises. ![IMG_4230.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/241tVC1YzkSAncZbpudiKRPTFJ14NseeRBJtAkoaK8Y5a9kfJ4FpyUbvc6UUHgvAYRukS.jpeg) ![IMG_4225.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23xKvhvUu2ECrRA5JAYBGpgpuNrqNCRSXsWV7uwi9Z9rEfvA6csrTx1EXXAdiPdA9i3Be.jpeg) ![IMG_4228.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23xKzvnq7B69gaCUXk11oxJCtzv2PkS5rj1qhtxbNJUkd1BNZDp4Bb3niYCpcMioK19vZ.jpeg) El Ávila has many climbs, eight in total, and one of them is from La Florida, San Bernardino, and Cota Mil. We climbed via San Bernardino and reached the Mariperez viewpoint, but you can also reach the Humboldt Hotel, the Ávila Cross, and El Corta Fuego. The views are spectacular, and the city looks more beautiful the higher you climb, as you can see a large part of the city. On the way up, the floor marks how many meters you have climbed at certain intervals. We passed 1,100 meters and then took the path to the firebreak, which is more of a dirt road. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmYbMP4oj6fNNojJmxtJwEjwagct2X5P3xrYyufqK4Tq2A/1757355111436.jpg) ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmTRcdDLFcbXcbGTNzW5qjHwR3YnWb3y4ww97np1r8VuNn/1757355111475.jpg) ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmPndDYWBf98uRdSjNe7TDAHagxVw6LnyfjNSwUQ6WAaFF/1757355111517.jpg) When we arrived at the Maripérez viewpoint, we sat down on a kind of wall and stayed there for about an hour admiring the views and talking. We also saw that you can fill up your water bottles at the ranger stations, which I thought was amazing because you can bring a bottle with you, refill it, and not have to carry so much weight when you climb. ![7fc32dc8-81f6-434e-a3fe-926758c10f9b.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23yTfQriNN6NnDiZJVtLXRuVzHY7hEU9YH9HUBxtBYhHmvxFRkMW6htfoUcjcfp2TDn5Q.jpeg) ![d044ee0d-1a11-4878-881e-cc7e47d10b5b.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23wgU9J9Rvz8ZGCjwtVnd7LEXd7VsdoN3gAiFub9vdMf9armiYnjcTnP4AsDVfaQ22Bgb.jpeg) ![IMG_4218.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/245SzuBxW2JvJXqtgFuaqd5tBSekr7hL93AUMv7zHXSrkGi8ru7nxM6ZDpqW8RTc4LNgG.jpeg) ![IMG_4208.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/242DJNj3A1yeT4uMZjKtFqyYB3fKQ7eUk34H1wkBjxF2AGYW62m9Yj1ftLb5hcgPWNXgH.jpeg) ![IMG_4233.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23tHJKQcsUCwrw7hLffRVWTzntyQ6XgVgv94q6FMA7XNbMU8PJB1Mg2FfjbfnFS369hjq.jpeg) The walk took us about 3 hours in total, but to finish off the walk we ate some ice cream at Elias' stand, which was delicious. He has a variety of sugar-free ice creams, fruit flavors, and creamy flavors like chocolate or fruit with chocolate. You can also add condensed milk to your ice cream, but Elias is known for his exotic combinations of fruit ice creams. If you ask me, my favorites are tizana and passion fruit mousse. After climbing, everyone goes for ice cream at the end of the trail. Even the dogs eat ice cream. ![IMG_4235.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23xAe8PZp1gz9U31nfdFTdLUSmKz7DsX3WCFqHmsGzXehmx1p5AG45nfqBwLTXukGRmsb.jpeg) ![IMG_4236.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23wMap3XFtksRqGGrEK3tVu7Q8Y3jinBMiQY7H7e2Gd8uL8MYppybK9Mkti4ivopDBxkz.jpeg) ![IMG_4234.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/alenicoa/23uFVhqs4WmNwCbzRNR2Kf4v7RsFCED7vMqMxxGPJEjXECN8koJguf2F3zySN91jB2Ah9.jpeg) Well, hive family, that's it for my post today.
