Hi friends, last week I had a really nice excursion in the province of Vicenza!
It had rained in the morning but then the beautiful sun came out and by car I reached Salcedo where there is a beautiful historical-naturalistic circular route on old paths that connect the hermitage of San Valentino, San Sigismondo (11th century) and the sanctuary of Sant'Anna (19th century) in the hamlet of Valle di Sopra di Lusiana and then returning to S. Anna passing through Valle di Sotto.

Ciao amici, la scorsa settimana ho fatto proprio una bella escursione in provincia di Vicenza!
La mattina aveva piovuto poi però è uscito un bel sole e in auto ho raggiunto Salcedo dove si trova un bellissimo percorso ad anello di carattere storico-naturalistico su vecchi sentieri che uniscono l'eremo di San Valentino, San Sigismondo (XI sec.) e il santuario di Sant’Anna (XIX secolo) alla frazione di Valle di Sopra di Lusiana per poi rientrare a S. Anna passando per Valle di Sotto.
The journey begins within a rich vegetation of ash trees, hornbeams, hazelnuts, ferns and many other native plants.
The ground was still damp and since it was downhill I risked slipping on the damp, moss-covered stones on a couple of occasions.

Il terreno era ancora umido e dato che era in discesa ho rischiato in un paio di occasioni di scivolare sulle pietra umide e ricoperte di muschio.
An intoxicating scent of vegetation and fresh, clean air, truly an uncontaminated place!

As I walked down the slippery path I wished I had Nordic walking poles!

I heard the sound of a stream and suddenly there was a beautiful wooden bridge that would allow me to cross it.

Sentivo il rumore di un ruscello e ad un tratto ecco un bel ponte di legno che mi avrebbe permesso di superarlo.
This point is really suggestive, I enjoyed photographing it from different points.

Near the bridge there was a strong smell of garlic, just a few steps away there was a carpet of white wild garlic flowers.

Then the path became uphill and little by little I emerged from the dense vegetation and glimpsed the blue sky.

There was a beautiful view of the area and right next to the driveway I could enjoy the view of the colorful wild flowers.

This route is characterized by ancient districts, some of which are uninhabited and dilapidated.

Here is the road again downhill, but on the asphalt my step was sure, I didn't risk slipping.

I took the path to the Valle di Sotto and, listening to the sound of the water, I was already imagining the view of the stream.

Ho preso il sentiero per la Valle di Sotto e già immaginavo ascoltando il rumore dell'acqua la vista del torrente.
What a sight, the streams are always fascinating!

Thanks to a small iron bridge I crossed the stream and continued along it.

After admiring the water I emerged into another district, this one was inhabited and more beautiful.

Leaving that small village, the path flanked by a fence crossed a beautiful cut meadow that opened up a view of the hills.

Then the path became uphill again, it was time to resume the initial altitude to reach the sanctuary and the ancient hermitage.
