On today's edition of FungiFriday, September 26, 2025. I have prepared three beautiful & interesting mushroom species that I discovered a few days ago. Some of these mushrooms include the "gerigit" mushroom, which is the popular name in Indonesia for the mushroom with the Latin name Schizophyllum commune.

Physically, this mushroom has a shape like a traditional grated coconut from the past with a creamy yellow or pale white color accompanied by beautiful gills with a slightly hard mushroom texture. Apart from that, this mushroom is one of the mushrooms that can be eaten.

Then the next mushroom is a type of Ganoderma that is still young, with its cute shape I was interested in photographing it. Apart from its cute shape, the back of this mushroom also looks interesting. I don't know if this is its gills or what? :)

And finally, there is a unique mushroom with a slightly mystical character and impression. This is not without reason because this mushroom is even known as "dead man's fingers". Scientifically, this fungus was detected as Xylaria longipes, which is a fungus in the Xylariaceae family.
