Desde hace muchos años que he usado lentes de contacto, sobre todo aquellos que tienen graduación para mis ojos ya que sufro de miopía y aunque siempre intento tener el mayor cuidado con ellos, ayer me paso algo que me hizo temerle a usar nuevamente lentes de contacto. Pase una noche terrible, entre en pánico y no sabia que hacer, solo me quedo esperar al día de hoy para buscar soluciones.

Todo comenzó al terminar de fotografiar mi maquillaje de Halloween, normalmente utilizo lentes de contacto artísticos con aumento para poder ver lo que hago claramente, ayer decidí usar estos de color negro con acabado estilo anime. Cuando me los puse no noté nada raro pero mientras pasaba el tiempo me estaba incomodando un poco más, al terminar de tomar las fotos mi vista se nublo y me comenzó a arder los ojos, pensé que simplemente me habían irritado, pero me pareció extraño la vista borrosa, aun asi no le di mucha importancia y pensé que al quitármelos volvería todo a la normalidad.
> It all started when I finished photographing my Halloween makeup. I normally use magnifying artistic contact lenses so I can see what I'm doing clearly. Yesterday I decided to use these black ones with an anime-style finish. When I put them on I didn't notice anything strange, but as time went by I was getting a little more uncomfortable. When I finished taking the photos, my vision blurred and my eyes started to burn. I thought they had simply irritated my eyes, but the blurry vision seemed strange to me. Even so, I didn't give it much importance and thought that by taking them off everything would go back to normal.
Pero el pánico llego cuando me quite los lentes de contacto y NO veía nada por el ojo derecho y por el izquierdo veía un poco mejor pero igualmente borroso, mi segundo error fue ir a lavarme los ojos desesperadamente pensando que quizás entro maquillaje a mi ojo, pero esto empeoro todo, los ojos me dolían aún más, mi esposo me reviso y me dijo que mis ojos se veían muy irritados y que notaba algo extraño en una esquina del ojo derecho como algo borroso/opaco. Era demasiado tarde para ir a un medico asi que finalmente decidí esperar al día siguiente, pero les juro que estaba en un pánico horrible.
> But the panic hit when I took out my contact lenses and I could NOT see anything out of my right eye and out of my left eye I could see a little better but still blurry, my second mistake was desperately going to wash my eyes thinking that maybe some makeup got in my eye, but this made everything worse, my eyes hurt even more, my husband checked me and told me that my eyes looked very irritated and that he noticed something strange in a corner of my right eye like something blurry/opaque. It was too late to go to a doctor so I finally decided to wait until the next day, but I swear I was in a horrible panic.
Mi solución temporal fue cubrir mi ojo derecho el cual estaba mas afectado de los dos e intentar descansarlo lo máximo posible. Aparte de ver borroso tambien me pasaba algo extraño, cada vez que veía la luz de los bombillos de la casa alrededor de ellos veía un halo de arcoíris, jamás había visto eso y realmente me preocupe mucho, es desesperante sentir todo eso en un mismo momento y sin poder pedir ayuda.
> My temporary solution was to cover my right eye, which was more affected of the two, and try to rest it as much as possible. Besides blurry vision, something strange was also happening to me: every time I looked at the light from the light bulbs in the house, I saw a rainbow halo. I'd never seen that before, and it really worried me. It's frustrating to feel all of that at the same time and not be able to ask for help.
Y además de no ver nada tambien sentía una sensación como si tuviera algo metido en mi ojo, como si hubiese entrado arena. Me acosté a dormir con este malestar y aunque descanse los ojos no pude dormir bien por la preocupación, por suerte hoy al levantarme veía mejor, pero tenía dolor de cabeza y una sensación de hinchazón en mi ojo (aunque se veía normal) decidí ir igualmente al medico y lo que pudo determinar el doctor es que los lentes de contacto que utilice ya estaban vencidos, un descuido que me hizo pasar una noche terrible pero que al final me deja una enseñanza. Por suerte no fue nada demasiado grave, aunque si lo parecía, llegue a casa aplicándome estas gotas que me receto el doctor y sentí un poco mas de alivio.
> And besides not seeing anything, I also felt like I had something stuck in my eye, like sand had gotten in. I went to bed with this discomfort and even though I rested my eyes, I couldn't sleep well because I was worried. Luckily, when I woke up today, I could see better, but I had a headache and a feeling of swelling in my eye (although it looked normal). I decided to go to the doctor anyway, and what the doctor was able to determine was that the contact lenses I was using were already expired. An oversight that made me have a terrible night, but in the end, it taught me a lesson. Luckily, it wasn't anything too serious, although it seemed like it. I got home and applied these drops that the doctor prescribed and felt a little more relief.
Aunque sigue un poco irritado mi ojo ya me siento mucho mejor .

Y definitivamente tendré que deshacerme de la mayoría de mis lentes de contacto ya que la mayoría tiene el mismo tiempo de haber sido comprados, realmente el tiempo pasa tan rápido que ya ni recordaba cuando los compre. Asi que, si usas lentes de contacto ten mucho cuidado con el tiempo de vencimiento y sobre todo la limpieza correcta de cada uno.
> And I'll definitely have to get rid of most of my contact lenses, since most of them are the same age as when I bought them. Time really flies so fast that I don't even remember when I bought them. So, if you wear contact lenses, be very careful about the expiration date and, above all, make sure you clean each one properly.
