Hola amigos. Hoy tenia ganas de hacer un dibujo muy dark. Las velas es algo que siempre me ha gustado hacer pero que lo hago muy poco por que las considero sumamente difíciles de pintar, hoy me anime a hacer este dibujo que para mi es como un recibimiento del Halloween que ya se acerca. Me toco improvisar un poco mientras iba pintando porque no tenia una idea clara de como manejar la atmosfera que acompañaría este retrato, decidí ir por un fondo totalmente negro y la única fuente de luz seria la vela, la cual ilumina todo el rostro y al final quise añadir unas lagrimas negras que darían un toque aun mas terrorífico a la imagen, a pesar de usar colores que no me gustan demasiado era necesario utilizarlos para lograr una iluminación realista y estoy feliz con como resulto todo. > Hello friends. Today I decided to do this drawing, which for me is like a welcome to Halloween, which is approaching. I had to improvise a bit while painting because I didn't have a clear idea of how to manage the atmosphere that would accompany this portrait. I decided to go for a completely black background and the only light source would be the candle, which illuminates the entire face. In the end, I wanted to add some black tears that would give the image an even more terrifying touch. Despite using colors I don't particularly like, it was necessary to use them to achieve realistic lighting, and I'm happy with how everything turned out.

Comencé el boceto y luego empecé a pintar la piel con colores naranjas y marrones, agregando luces en los costados y un poco de oscuridad en el centro y esquinas del rostro y cuello. Agregue mas colores hasta darle mejor forma al dibujo, aunque desde el principio había algo que no me gustaba del rostro y no lograba identificar cual era el problema. Luego comencé a mezclar los colores para que la piel luciese mejor, pero manteniendo textura. Tambien pinte la vela usando verdes oliva, grises y naranjas, esta vez la vela fue un poco más facil de trabajar que en veces anteriores ya que es una vela pequeña y no necesitaba demasiados detalles. > I started the sketch and then began painting the skin with oranges and browns, adding highlights on the sides and a bit of darkness in the center and corners of the face and neck. I added more colors until I had a better shape, although from the beginning there was something I didn't like about the face and couldn't quite put my finger on it. Then I began mixing the colors to make the skin look better while maintaining the texture. I also painted the candle using olive greens, grays, and oranges. This time, the candle was a little easier to work with than in previous cases since it's a small candle and didn't need too much detail.

Cambie el fondo a negro para tener una mejor visión de como iba quedando el dibujo, dude en colocar un fondo totalmente negro, pero realmente me gusto el contraste entre la total oscuridad y el toque de luz. Pinte un poco el cabello y algunos reflejos de luz sobre el. Para darle un mejor acabado agregue luces en los ojos, labios y nariz. Tambien trabaje un poco mas la vela y le pinte el fuego usando azules, grises naranja y amarillo. Aún sentía que había algo extraño en el rostro y me di cuenta que el ojo derecho estaba un poco desviado asi que lo arregle intentando centrarlo lo mas posible con el otro ojo y después de terminar mi dibujo se me ocurrió colocar unas lagrimas negras a ver como se veía y me encanto, Siento que era el toque final que le faltaba. > I changed the background to black to get a better view of how the drawing was coming out. I hesitated about using a completely black background, but I really liked the contrast between the total darkness and the touch of light. I painted a little bit of hair and some light reflections on it. To give it a better finish, I added highlights to the eyes, lips, and nose. I also worked a little more on the candle and painted the fire using blues, grays, orange, and yellow. I still felt like there was something strange about the face and I realized that the right eye was a little deviated, so I fixed it, trying to center it as much as possible with the other eye. After finishing my drawing, it occurred to me to add some black tears to see how they looked, and I loved it. I feel like it was the final touch that was missing.
