Hace unas semanas que se me agoto la pintura corporal blanca y eso me tenia realmente preocupada ya que se acerca octubre y esta pintura es prácticamente obligatoria para hacer maquillajes de Halloween. En mi país es un poco complicado conseguir pinturas de Body Paint, sin embargo, conseguí varias opciones, la primera era una tienda que tiene todo lo que necesitas para maquillaje artísticos pero la pintura blanca estaba agotada, eso me obligo a buscar en otros lugares y curiosamente descubrí una marca de body Paint venezolana, la marca se llama atenea y no solo tienen pinturas caporales sino tambien pinturas acrílicas, pintura al frio, etc. El envase de pintura era bastante grande y además estaba económico, lo cual me hizo dudar bastante de la calidad. Aun asi quise hacer la prueba y hoy les comento un poco de mi experiencia usándola por primera vez en un maquillaje de mimo.

A few weeks ago, I ran out of white body paint, and that had me really worried since October is approaching and this paint is practically mandatory for Halloween makeup. In my country, it's a bit difficult to find body paint, but I found several options. The first was a store that has everything you need for artistic makeup, but the white paint was sold out. This forced me to look elsewhere, and curiously, I discovered a Venezuelan brand of body paint. The brand is called Atenea, and they not only offer body paints but also acrylic paints, cold-temperature paint, etc. The paint container was quite large and affordable, which made me doubt its quality. Even so, I wanted to try it out, and today I'm sharing a little about my experience using it for the first time in mime makeup.
La pintura viene en un envase grande y tiene una textura bastante liquida, es pintura a base de agua asi que se asemeja bastante a las pinturas corporales que tengo que se activan con agua, solo que esta seca un poco mas lenta y necesita varias capas para que cubra bien.

Proceso/Process
Comencé cubriendo mis cejas con pegamento en barra y sellando con polvo traslucido, luego tomé un pincel plano grande y comencé a cubrir mi rostro con la pintura corporal, la verdad es que no me funciono demasiado bien con este pincel ya que dejaba muchas marcas de brochazos. En la segunda capa decidí cambiar de pincel y utilicé uno de maquillaje mas peludo y con este pincel si agarra mucho mejor la pintura, además de eso tambien intenté aplicar la pintura con una Beauty Blender y una borla de maquillaje solo para probar cual era la manera mas efectiva de aplicarla, sin embargo, con estas dos ultimas herramientas no me fue muy bien, asi que…. Efectivamente la mejor herramienta para aplicar esta pintura es un pincel de maquillaje preferiblemente que sea parecido a los que usamos normalmente para difuminar las sombras de ojos. Necesite de 3 capas para cubrir bien cada parte de la piel, sin embargo, creo que si hubiese aplicado la pintura con ese pincel desde el principio solo hubiese necesitado dos capas.
> I started by covering my eyebrows with a glue stick and sealing it with translucent powder, then I took a large flat brush and began to cover my face with the body paint, the truth is that it didn't work too well for me with this brush since it left a lot of brush marks. For the second coat, I decided to change brushes and used a hairier makeup brush and this brush holds the paint much better. In addition to that, I also tried applying the paint with a Beauty Blender and a makeup puff just to test which was the most effective way to apply it, however, with these last two tools it didn't work very well, so... Indeed, the best tool to apply this paint is a makeup brush, preferably one similar to the ones we normally use to blend eyeshadow. I needed 3 coats to properly cover every part of the skin, however, I think that if I had applied the paint with that brush from the beginning I would have only needed two coats.
Entre cada capa hay que esperar que seque, realmente siento que tarda mucho en secar y si no esperas puede pasar una tragedia como levantarse la pintura de abajo que aun no se seca o tambien no se difumina bien las sombras como me paso en el ojo cuando aplique una sombra gris mezclada con un color vino oscuro, no se difumino demasiado bien ya que aun seguía un poco húmeda la pintura. Maquille mis ojos con detalles en negro y pinte unas cejas con el mismo color dándole una forma como de expresión triste. Para las mejillas use un rubor rosa/naranja y lo aplique de forma circular con una borla, tambien añadí un puntito en la punta de la nariz. Pinte mis labios de negro y finalmente pegue pestañas postizas.
> Between each coat you have to wait for it to dry. I really feel like it takes a long time to dry, and if you don't wait, a tragedy can happen, like the paint underneath that isn't dry yet lifting up, or the shadows not blending well, as happened to me with my eye when I applied a gray shadow mixed with a dark wine color. It didn't blend very well since the paint was still a little wet. I made up my eyes with black details and painted some eyebrows with the same color, giving them a sad expression. For my cheeks, I used a pink/orange blush and applied it in a circular motion with a powder puff. I also added a dot to the tip of my nose. I painted my lips black and finally glued on false eyelashes.
Final
Esta pintura costo $10 y sinceramente prefiero las pinturas corporales a base de aceite, son mas facil de aplicar, no debes esperar que seque y dejan un acabado mas natural, aun asi esta pintura me parece una buena opción ya que trae bastante producto y solo hay que aprender a manejarlo correctamente para sacarle el mayor provecho, además tambien puede ser muy útil para pintar pequeños detalles blancos, cosa que con la pintura a base de aceite es bastante difícil. En conclusión, me gusto, pero no es mi opción favorita, la volvería a comprar solo si no consigo mi pintura blanca de siempre.
> This paint cost $10 and I honestly prefer oil-based body paints. They're easier to apply, you don't have to wait for it to dry, and they leave a more natural finish. Still, this paint seems like a good option to me since it comes with quite a bit of product and you just have to learn how to use it correctly to get the most out of it. It can also be very useful for painting small white details, which is quite difficult with oil-based paint. In conclusion, I liked it, but it's not my favorite option. I would only buy it again if I couldn't find my usual white paint.
