Hi coffee lovers,

Today I would like to share about how I make my traditional Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk and special Vietnamese coffee maker. This is also my entry post for POB Photo Contest (first photo).

Before jumping into details of instruction. Let me write a bit about how special Vietnamese milk coffee "cà phê sữa":

  • The local coffee I bought from Vietnam is a great blend combination of Robusta, Moka, and Arabica coffee beans, which were roasted and ground with a secret method of local monastery priests.
  • Vietnamese coffee maker is a filter set of a small pot, a pot lid, a pressure plate, and a bottom plate. This filter set is regularly made by stainless metal, however, I luckily got a collection of very cute porcelain coffee makers as my photo below.

Although leaving my country for 10 years, making and drinking traditional Vietnamese milk coffee is my morning ritual. It is a must drink to boost my mood everyday.

Step-by-step Instruction 1. Condensed milk: 35-45 ml in a tall glass 2. Vietnamese ground roasted coffee: 01 full table spoon or a half of the filter pot. 3. Put the coffee maker set on the top of the tall glass (with condensed milk in step 1) 4. Pour a little bit hot boiled water into the filter pot (with ground coffee in step 2). Wait 03 mins. 5. After this little hot water absorbed and the coffee powder raised a bit bigger, pour again hot boiled water in the filter pot until full. 6. Wait until no more coffee drops, repeat step 5. If you like sweet and strong coffee, no need to repeat step 5 (no need to fill more hot water into filter pot) 7. Put away the coffee filter set. Mix the condensed milk and coffee evenly.

ENJOY!
