Romania / Rumänien
Hello,
Today we drove from Greece to Romania. The journey through Macedonia and Serbia took a good eight hours. In Serbia, I was caught by a speed camera, which was resolved according to all the rules of the Balkans. @bil.prag would know this too. It was good because the roads weren't really busy. Tomorrow, on the way to Germany, it will be much busier, especially in Hungary, where there is always very heavy traffic.
On the evening after our arrival, I invited my wife into town and we went to a restaurant on the riverbank. To round off our vacation, we ate a local dessert that is specific to Romania. It was her first time here, but my second, although I was last here 20 years ago. We were pleasantly surprised because it is somewhat remote, but it was still full and the atmosphere was very good. We usually go to the city center, but today we wanted to try something different. It wasn't that quiet in the city, even though it was Wednesday. Okay, unlike Germany, Southern and Eastern Europe are livelier. People go out much more, even during the week, and you can meet up with others spontaneously without planning it three months in advance. A message two hours in advance is usually enough.
After that, we went home, read our son a bedtime story at my parents' house, and ended the day. How was your day?

Wir sind heute von Griechenland nach Rumänien gefahren. Die Fahrt über Mazedonien und Serbien hat gute acht Stunden gedauert. In Serbien habe ich auch ein Radar erwischt, was sich nach allen Regeln des Balkans gelöst hat. @bil.prag würde das auch kennen. Es war gut, denn die Straßen waren nicht richtig voll. Morgen auf dem Weg nach Deutschland wird es deutlich voller werden, besonders in Ungarn, wo es immer sehr dichten Verkehr gibt.
Am Abend nach unserer Ankunft habe ich meine Frau in die Stadt eingeladen und wir sind zu einem Restaurant am Flussufer gegangen. Zum Abschluss des Urlaubs haben wir nur ein lokales Dessert, das spezifisch für Rumänien ist, gegessen. Für sie war es das erste Mal hier, für mich das zweite, wobei ich das letzte Mal vor 20 Jahren hier war. Es hat uns positiv überrascht, denn es ist irgendwie abgelegen, aber trotzdem war es voll und die Stimmung war sehr gut. Wir gehen sonst meistens ins Stadtzentrum, aber heute wollten wir mal etwas anderes ausprobieren. Es war nicht so ruhig in der Stadt, obwohl Mittwoch war. Ok, im Gegensatz zu Deutschland ist es in Süd- und Osteuropa lebhafter. Die Leute gehen deutlich mehr raus, auch unter der Woche, und man kann sich spontan mit anderen treffen, ohne es drei Monate im Voraus zu planen. Eine Nachricht zwei Stunden im Voraus reicht meistens aus.
Danach sind wir nach Hause gegangen, haben unserem Sohn bei meinen Eltern eine Gute-Nacht-Geschichte vorgelesen und den Tag beendet. Wie war euer Tag?
