Anything, even the smallest thing, can save the world, don't you believe me? Look at the plants, they always save you by giving us oxygen. Of course I'm not here to talk about plants, maybe that's a topic for another post. I'm here to talk you a bit with what inspires me to be a better person: I'm talking about a dog. A dog? Yes, a dog, but not just any dog. We all have a hero, my hero is something different, but that doesn't make him any less of a hero. I already told you that things that seem insignificant also make a difference, now it's time to check them out.
We will always need a hero, that is, someone victorious, perfect, with a brilliant personality and "almost" similar to ours. He or she, or that, will be what allows us to say: “Okay, I can be like that too” or “I can also succeed” or perhaps: “I can be just as strong”. At worst, idiots inspire too, but I'm not here to talk about idiots, that may be a topic for another day. So, as I was saying, the world is full of heroes, fictional and real, even invented by ourselves; Whatever the origin of these characters, they all lead us to a unison feeling: Win.
And Balto, that glorious dog, is the hero who has inspired me to always win.

How is it that a dog managed to inspire me? As a child he suffered from asthma; my lungs were churning so hard it was hard to breathe. My house became the hospital, my TV became the only friend I had, in addition to the company of my parents and my brothers. He hated being in bed, drinking soup and enduring the terrible taste of painkillers. It was a nightmare that seemed to have no end. One day my dad took a film to the hospital ward where other children and I were being nebulized. For the first time I met Balto, and for the first time in my life I met another kind of hero.
Of course, it was an animated film based on real life, and although much of the events that occurred in the film were fiction, the boy that I was (and partly the one that I still am) fell in love with that Husky that saved from the death to a lot of children suffering from diphtheria. I said to myself: "I must have the same courage as Balto", and then "I must get out of this hospital!" and finally: I must recover! Of course, that also depended on my medicines, even so, I tried to cheer myself up more than before: that courage that I needed so much arose from within me, and as the days went by, my lungs were strong again.

From then on I understood that the strength within us is capable of overcoming any adversity, we just need a little push: Balto was my little push. It is incredible what can arise from our will when we feel identified with something that goes beyond us, so we say: "if he could do it, I can do it too!" That's the inspiration that Balto gave me when he couldn't find a way out of my problems. I will not lie: my life was full of problems, how good it was to have the image of Balto to conquer my own courage!
You may still be wondering: Can he be a better dog than a human being? Yes, and I say that for sure. An animal acts on its instinct, and, although it is not as intelligent as a human being, we see a display of love and loyalty that is sometimes lacking in humanity. Balto was a hero because he showed that strength is measured by action and not by what we see with the naked eye. But how is this possible? Why do I have so much effort to say that Balto is a sign of Courage? Why does this Siberian Husky inspire me so much?

It is because of Balto that my life does not revolve around appearances; I do not formulate prejudices, nor do I disqualify someone because they visually seem "unpleasant"; This message is not just for me, because it is something that we all must learn: value for the effort, not for the facade: the facade lies, the truth is found inside; there lies the greatest courage.
