Hey there, everybody. It's been a while since the last drawing that I've posted here. In reality, it has only been a few days, but it definitely feels like ages have passed since I was last active here. The weekly timer has reset, which means it's time for another Splinterlan Art Contest entry. This week, much like the one before, I've decided to go back to one of the older drawings and try my hand at re-drawing an older post that I've done.

Now, similar to the one before, this drawing is one of the older ones, so I was pretty excited to see how it would turn out in the end. Naturally, I decided to use every skill and technique in my arsenal to make it far superior compared to the one I did way back.

With that general overview and purpose for this drawing out of the way, let's just dive right into the process and details of making this piece come to life.

The Process

First off, I started with the simple line art as always. I didn't want to start with something crazy, so I tried to keep it as simple as possible. Still, I didn't want to lose any details on her expression and facial features, so I tried to add as many details as possible to them.

Then I colored it flat with two different contrasting colors and two variations for each (the slightly different colors that you see).

Then it was time to add another contrasting color to the background to differentiate between the character and its back, so I used the dark color since she's already quite "Radiant". Now, since the addition of the background color meant the initial flat coloring was done, I added some shading here and there to make her clothes appear more realistic and give them more depth. I also sneakily added some details to her eyes, not complete, but still much better than that blank look in her eyes.

Then it was time to work on the metallic and shiny golden parts of her clothes and improve her makeup since the initial one looked a bit dull.

After that was done, it was time to work on her skin and skin tone. I made it a little bit brighter since it went better with her radiant form and all the golden and shiny pieces on her.

Now the background was left that needed more attention, which I modified here, and also worked more on finalizing tones and shades here and there.

Now it was time to add a proper light source and adjust the glows and shades on her body accordingly. I added one in the top right corner and modified her hair to fit the incoming light.

Then I added the signature strands of hair to her. I made them golden and yellow to fit her theme more properly.

The Result

And last but not least, I added some more light pillars in the background and some lens flares and rays, and also the usual sparkle that I add as the final touch. I finished her eyes and their glow, and it was done.
