RE: Does Hive Snaps need a Chat box?

I like the idea ! My individualist instinct makes me like the idea of encrypted chat. But the other way to look at it is that if all chats were on the blockchain (with LOTS of warnings that it would be public, and perhaps a mechanism to mask phone numbers and email addresses) then it is less likely to be used abusively by weirdoes and creeps.

But anything that helps to break Hive's terrible addiction to Discord gets a big tick from me. I detest Discord with a passion, both because Discord is an awful mess to use, and because I don't like the idea that a Web 3 place like Hive finds it necessary to use a Web 2 app like Discord to communicate.

Another thought prompted by your video is that Hive Snaps really, really needs in-your-face tutorials. The kind of stuff I wish I'd been able to read as an FAQ and help system when I first joined Hive rather than having to plough through dozens of often contradictory posts.

Although it's ambitious (and means more coding.... sorry !), perhaps there could be a big box at the top of the screen, with a kind of modular "training course". As each element is completed, the user can tick to make the done module go away, and it all disappears once the last module is ticked (but with a way to bring it back and revise if desired). As an incentive, maybe each module could come with a few HP delegation for a couple of months to help give new accounts a bit of a boost - and an explanation that the delegation is most useful if they're curating.

Sorry, I've written another essay for you..... 😆
